Google AI says: "Yes, lenders can consider immigration status when underwriting loans, and visa holders may be considered more risky than citizens. This is because immigration status can correlate with national origin, which is protected under the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA). Lenders can consider immigration status to assess their rights or remedies to recover funds, or if otherwise required to comply with other laws. For example, if a visa expires and the borrower must leave the country, the lender would be unable to recover the balance due on a loan."

I chose to do a 1 pay lease and just pay everything at signing. I also had offers for roughly the same total price with $0 down $254 per month, $1k down $207 per month, and $2k down $161 per month. Admittedly those are slightly better than the $6k upfront but they didn't come with the extra $2k in options which I chose to use on lease end protection and tire/wheel protection

I'm having the same problem with Foundation and Planet Hyundai. I'm up in North Denver. They keep quoting me ~$320 per month and claiming "taxes and fees". I tell them to send me the numbers because that's a lot of "taxes and fees" and they either waffle or just make stuff up.

I may just give up on this. Is it just dependent on getting the right sales person?
Tell them you are willing to go one payment.

Colorado has a great tax credit program and with the new lease option it just brings down the price of the car quite a bit.

But for an EV you really need a place to charge that can do a level 2 charge, at home.
If you have Xcel Energy you can get some money back.

Reduce the Costs of Purchasing and Installing a Charger
Charging your electric vehicle (EV) with a Level 2 charger is a fast, convenient home charging option. Our rebate can help reduce the costs of updating your home's wiring so you can charge at home. Our rebate can also offset the cost of a Level 2 charger.

Eligible customers can save up to $500. Income-Qualified customers can qualify for a $1,300 rebate.

Feds give you 30% tax credit too!

So, what does that mean for you? Essentially, if you install a home EV charging station, the tax credit is 30% of the cost of hardware and installation, up to $1,000. Also, beginning last year the EV charger tax credit for business and home installations applies to other EV charger equipment like bidirectional (i.e., two-way) chargers.

Businesses that install new EV chargers or EV charger equipment can also benefit from a tax incentive of up to 30% of the total cost of equipment and installation. However, they will have to meet certain labor and construction requirements to be eligible to claim the full incentive.

Related: How the EV Tax Credit Works

Before the IRA, the limit on the amount of the EV charger tax credit for businesses was $30,000. That limit applies to projects that were completed before the end of last year. However, under the IRA, if you complete the business installation project after 2022, the tax credit per property item is up to $100,000 per EV charger.

All of this means that while electric vehicle chargers are not entirely tax deductible, you might benefit, to some degree, from the tax incentives in the Inflation Reduction Act that apply for refueling property.

How to claim the EV charger tax credit: Form 8911
To claim the federal tax credit for your home EV charger, or other EV charging equipment, file Form 8911 with the IRS when you file your federal income tax return.

Phil long offered One Pay 6500 without any add on like Lease End Protection or Tyre/Wheel protection. Weird that tax component alone is 1655.66 .. Is that tax difference in Colorado Springs and Denver?

Just had my charger installed today. After a decent bit of research, decided to go with the ChargePoint home flex hardwired. Got the used-like new from Amazon for $500 and it was still shrink wrapped. https://a.co/d/dlNEDc2

Paid an electrician $425 to install on a 60A breaker and it charged from about 20% to full in about 6 hours. After the 30% tax rebate (which I won't get until I file next year), it will be about $700 for the charger and install.

I went with hardwired over nema 14-50 plug mainly bc it's supposed to be more reliable, but it also charges a little faster and was about $100 cheaper total. Apparently the plugs can wear out after a while and there can also be issues with nuisance breaker tripping if they use a GFCI breaker.

I have two 50amp circuits in my garage and ran 8 gauge to the Nema plug 1450. Only paid a electrician 150 bucks and bought the material years ago before tesla was popular or before the model 3 was released. My garage is fully insulated now with 5/8th drywall. Only known problem I know of is leviton plugs can get hot and burn up. Circuit will trip. Not too worried as I can reinstall a better one if it happens. 40 amp charger plug in level 2 should get me 7 to 7.5 hours fully charged. I am not concerned though as the free 2 year charging is less than 10miles away and does 350kwh. I don't plan on spending the 300 on a level 2 charger and spending 9.75 in power to fill up the car. If I really need power as an emergency I'd just use level 1 to drive 8 miles to charge for free 🙂
