Every few months, it goes up $100. Occasionally, it will be full price for a few months. I'd say 6 months of the year is between $529-$550, though.
Yeah, about a year and a half ago, I picked up the strat for $550, expecting it would be the last time I ever saw a Fender Player that low. Shortly after, it went up to $750 or so, and a few months later, went down to $529. Since then, it has bounced around between $529-$650.
Great Guitar. The neck feels fantastic and Lake Placid Blue has become my favorite color.
I need to add a tele to my collection some day. Budget probably $500-700. Would this be the ideal add or better to wait and get something slightly better?

It's a Tele and fits your budget.
Seems like a no brainer...you want a Tele and it's a Tele. Plus, the cost is cheaper than you will find anywhere for a new one as well as many used ones.

I know. I guess need is a strong word. I'm torn because my spouse will be annoyed if another guitar shows up but if this really is as good a deal as I'll see, then might as well do it now vs waiting another 12 months.
