Dear Loungers,

There are a lot of new faces in the lounge and now is a good time to remind everyone of the lounge and site rules. We moderators co-exist with you in the lounge and we�re proud to be part of what we call our "sd family." We don�t like to be put in a position to warn you but we are here to enforce the rules and guidelines.

We also would like to address some growing trends we are noticing in the lounge. There are times when we don�t agree with each other and that�s okay. We are entitled to our personal opinion and reasons why we disagree. Seeing both sides of the coin may not be of benefit to you, but it might be to someone who may be experiencing the same problem(s).

We understand that sometimes it is a thread itself that causes (a lot) of attention. Knowing this, the op should be aware that not everyone's reply/replies will be favorable as the lounge is made up of different personalities. Use your best judgment and think before you choose to put your private life out in a public forum. If you choose to do so, you'll have to be ready to hear different views and potential criticism. If a view is different than yours, it's not (necessarily) trolling, it's a personal opinion. And posters, there's a fine line between personal opinion and personal attack.

Sometimes we see conversations turning into confrontations, which often leads to personal attacks. It gets disheartening when we see disagreements turn into attacks at a personal level. It is unnecessary and we believe you can still make a good point without seeming hurtful. If you believe your reply will provoke outrageous replies, show some restraint and move on. Because the lounge is like family, we may be friends with the parties that are having a disagreement. Believe it or not, it does affect some of us because it is sad to see our friends not getting along.

Another year has come and gone. Each new year brings us closer because we've known each other that much longer. As regulars here, we all made some amazing friendships with each other. Whether it is privately, or publicly we�ve supported each other when times are rough. We pray when there�s a need to, we have kind words of comfort and hugs to show that we care. We come to each other�s aid when we need help. We humor each other in jest. It is the online friendship that makes this place called �our home� when we�re on the computer. We come back daily for the company.

We wish you and yours all the best this holiday season and we look forward to a great 2010 with all of you!!
