I usually buy several of these and then keep the one in the best condition and best battery life. Has worked out well. Usually about 1 in 3 are in great condition.

Yes, my sister got screwed over by an Amazon third-party refurb iPhone. The battery stopped charging after a couple months and the Apple Store wouldn't work on it because it didn't have a valid serial or something like that. Amazon support was useless. I think she got some credit back eventually, but not a full refund, and she bought one somewhere else. I'd stay away.

A common issue with 13s are the dust getting into 3x lens. Switch to 3x lens and see if there are any black spots seem. I returned 3 amazon renewed 13s simply because this defects. It is a common issue for 13s and the only fix is to replace the whole camera module.

Way too big. I find iPhone screens around 11/XR size to be good for pre-tween youths. Unless you have a kid who's 99% on the growth chart, then by all means get them whatever the size phones you want.

Does anyone have any experience with returns incase of bad battery and warranty? I suppose you're SOL after 30 days and Apple won't honor 1 year warranty will they?

Thank you, appreciate your response. I tried calling my local Apple Store and they said you'll need to bring in the device to see if I could purchase Apple care on it, do you have at experience with it?

Apple told me since I'm buying from Amazon, there's no 1 year warranty with them.

Received mine today. Condition looks flawless. I checked the telephoto lens to make sure the optics were not hindered by dust. The phone does have a regular model number starting with an M. It came with a generic charger. The phone was dead out of the box. I did check the battery health after charging and it is at 86% which has me on the fence. This was not a premium refurbished version, just standard.

I appreciate Apples photo quality and design, but their iOS and battery degrading over time is kinda strange. How come my iPhone 6 is impossible to use but my Nexus 6 is normal?
