This was in the news. I haven't contacted the dealer yet but it looks like $2210 pay down and $125 a month. My simple math says about $185 a month.
This excludes any dealer discounts. But may exclude some other fees. I have never leased so no clue.
Great as a third car. Note that this model didn't get very good reviews - hence it being priced accordingly.

Toyota built this as a compliance car to fill a gap in the lineup and has zero focus on it or care. If anything, it is the 'look we built an EV, it sucks!'. The first production run had WHEELS FALLING OFF. They recalled every single one! The car is slow and just utterly wild in it's idiocy.
We test drove the badge engineered Subaru version - the Solterra. Same car, different logo.
The list of infuriating choices piled fast. Want to move the driver's seat? BEEPS. CONSTANT BEEPS.
Want to back up? It beeps on the inside and inside only. Who are they warning?! Me? I"M DRIVING THE CAR.
The performance is just bad. It has a quick little bit of torque and then falls on it's face.
Did I mention the range sucks and that the car does not support fast charging so you literally cannot roadtrip it without hour-long-stops?
All in all, it just felt like Toyota was completely uninterested in building it as it is lower margin than gas/hybrid.
Then you have the ioniq 5. Hyundai's focus is straight up on on beating the Tesla Model Y. They are serious and in it. The car is shockingly better looking in person than the BZ4X. The interior feels like tomorrow and has innovative ideas, way more range, way better software, etc.
Korea is currently having the same moment that Japan had in the 90s, Hyundai should be taken seriously, esp in the EV space.

The issue isn't test driving it, it's blindly assuming that Toyota makes the best and most reliable EV without cross shopping other brands and cars. I'm not saying to go buy a Tesla or Kia/Hyundai instead, but there are plenty of other options out there vs getting stuck with this turd of an EV.

I feel you brother! I moved to TX with a newly leased vehicle not knowing about the tax thing and ended up paying the tax difference when I had to register!
A few dealers do a tax credit for some brands but the deals are abysmal anyway!
I have tax exemption, don't know if they allow to exempt
How do you get it qualify for tax exemption? I'm all ears!

I.e, Single-pay possible, and has any value?
I don't think it's "blindly" assuming Toyota makes a good car. They have an impressive track record of doing so, so there's an expectation that it will be good. When I open up my consumer reports magazine I expect 6 out of the top 10 cars to be a Toyota since that's been the case for the last 20 years. The fact that they put out a lemon is pretty shocking considering their track record. But I agree… always need to do your homework when it comes to a company bringing out a new type of vehicle
This thing is widely know to be absolute trash.
Its got poor range relative to most new EVs. Slowish charging too. What else?
Overall decent vehicle with bad range. That's understandably a deal breaker for many. But if you only have a short commute, and especially if you have other cars in your household you can take for longer trips, this could be a great option. For instance, my commute to work (the 2-3 days a week I go in the office) is less than 7 miles each way, and any stops I'd need for daily shopping or errands would only add a few extra miles. So, I'd consider this if it were available in my area (doesn't look like it is) b/c it's more than adequate for my daily driving, and I can take my wife's car on any trips where range would be an issue. On the other hand, if you only have one car in your household, commute 60 miles each way, and often take roadtrips, this would be a terrible choice.
The thing is, people on the internet have no understanding of nuance, or sense of getting the right tool for the right job. Everything is either awesome are trash to them. Such a stupid way to go through life.
I drove the Solterra recently (same car) to try to get a $50 gift card offer (of course salesman weaseled out of giving me $50). I actually liked the car. Price needs to be 20k lower.

It's Toyota half attempt to have a EV on the market just to meet regulatory laws. Toyota's President himself said they are more focused on Hybrid technology and see that as their bread and butter.
Please just search this car on YouTube and you will see how horrible it is. And yes, nearly every EV car is better than this including Hyundai, Kia, Chevy, and even Tesla.
Yeah. So there are people who are above the income limits for the federal wealth transfer gift. It kind of changes the math.
Gas man MUY MACHO rawwwwrr 🤡
