A few things to know.
1. the plan only lasts 360 days, not a year.
2. renew price $30 does not include tax and fee. the tax and fee is about $1 or $2 for me.
3. If you forget to renew it when time is up, you have about 60 days to keep your number. There is an reactive fee of $1 if you forgot to renew the plan. This $1 is not a tax, not a yearly fee. It costs you $1 if you totally forget to renew the plan after 30 days.
You may want to link a credit card on RedPocket account so you get auto renew.
When I know I will have friends / family fly into US, I mail this SIM card out. I tell them to put this SIM card into their unlocked phone and call me when their flight lands at an airport. It saves $$ and make everything simple.

Customer service were pretty helpful and knowledgeable and set my new line and eSIM up for me since the Red Pocket web page kept spewing out errors. Impressed with them so far.
The only thing left is that it shows the date for the next payment as 30 days from now instead of 360 days from now. I mentioned that too and they said they have updated the system and the web page reporting should be corrected in a couple of days.

As someone else said check your APN settings from the redpocket site. You can also try to reset to default APN settings. I have different APN settings than what is listed on the redpocket site, I don't know why, but the phone works. Its an older android phone running android version 9. My settings are below. Hope they help.
