Credit goes to TealCable6389 for the initial discovery, but the deal is much broader than in their post and with better trade-ins than the Pixel 7. Still, give them a thumbs up if you like this deal.

T-Mobile has great deals for Pixels 8s and Moto razrs [t-mobile.com] with instant discounts and a $500 trade-in credit (over 24 months). Upgrades qualify, no new line required. Go5G, Magenta, or ONE plans qualify.

Pixel 8: $100 + tax
Pixel 8 Pro: $300 + tax
Moto razr 2023: $52 + tax
Moto razr+ 2023: $250 + tax

This deal is available through all T-Mobile sales channels: internet, phone, retail, kiosks, etc. Upgrading through Sams Club and Costco will get your $35 activation fee waived and a $75 bonus gift card.

Instant discount sale may end at any time. Ask for the $500 trade-in promotion by referring to Smartphone Trade ID240206, Promo Code: P706 [t-mobile.com].

Cheapest trade-able phone for the full $500 credit would be a Samsung S9 for $90 [ebay.com]. Trade-ins must be in good condition (turns on; no water damage; no screen cracks; and in my experience screen burn and scratches are acceptable).

This deal is for existing T-mobile customers with qualifying plans to upgrade. There are better deals for new T-Mobile customers, like 4x iPhone 15 + Essentials plan for $100.

Costco $100 GC and waived $35 activation fee for upgrading through them:
I just upgraded this morning at Costco as well, and based on the Promo Code that the rep gave me, I'm seeing a $100 Costco GC as well.

I remember when these trade in deals with T-Mobile used to get you the pixels for free on simple choice. No longer the uncarrier, oh well.
No love for SC plans, again
Dang, no love for SC members. I can't give up my plan from 10+ yrs ago. I have like 6 free lines on it so nothing else comes close.

Last good SC deal was moto edge 2022. I got 3.

My only deals outlet now is Samsung.com trade in deals. Here's hoping for a great mid-cycle deal like they did for the S23U. I got mine + Tab S9 + watch & earbuds for less than $400!

So in plain English, you can pay off your installment plan early. The t mobile rep lied to me cause he said he is 100% sure cause he does it all the time.
do not trust t-mobile rep unless you are talking to them using twitter or fb messenger.

Not sure if it matters here but i got completely screwed by Tmobile a few years ago when i bought a galaxy s9 off of swappa just to trade in for 800 on the new galaxy flip and because i didn't have the s9 activated on one of my lines at time of the order they did not give me the 800 trade in.

I still have that old s9 and i am going to put the sim card in and activate it before i initiate the trade in just to make sure this time.

I have traded in many phones on T-Mobile. Not a single phone was activated on my acct. I always bought the cheapest phone to use for trade-in. Not a single issue.

Must have been the filipino tmobile customer service agent that automatically applied one of my activated phones that were not trade in worthy even though i told him i was intended to trade in the s9.It was a night mare so i don't want to take that chance again.

Do it yourself online next time. Select trade in different device, enter imei. It will be no human errors.

I think it's more than a blacklist check. One time I tried to trade in a phone that wasn't paid off yet, and the IMEI check stopped the trade in. (I went out to the parking lot, logged in and paid off the phone, then went back in and completed the upgrade.) For your purpose it would probably work as long as you cancel the earlier trade. Otherwise I expect you'd run into problems if you try to trade in a phone that doesn't match the expected IMEI.
Ended up going to Costco and the rep called in to Tmo support. They canceled the online trade I had done (buyers remorse or something like that) and had to have a supervisor approve it. After a RMA was sent to my email, the Costco trade in was able to go thru.

If you have a nice rep, try to do it in store, otherwise I would just call in and ask for a return and after that's done, just go into Costco and pretend you never had an issue.

I did this deal today at Costco. It was very quick and smooth. After I got home I looked at my account and I didn't see any mention of the promo or $500 credit. Where in my account do I look for the promo code? I do see the order with trade-in device IMEI under order status.
