32GB RAM, 1 TB SSD, Excellent build quality (from reviews), 2.2 lbs weight.
HP Dragonfly G4 13.5" Intel Evo Platform Touchscreen Laptop - 13th Gen Intel Core i7-1355U - 1280p - Windows 11 Pro
This was $1200 a couple of weeks back and then it went to $1099. It just dropped to $999.
This is not the newest core ultra processor, but is this not good enough for most at this price point considering the build quality? I was looking for 32GB RAM, 1TB, 14.5 inch or less. and processor from the latest gen (preferably AMD) but I don't think it can be had for less than $1000. Zenbook came close with intel 155h.

yeah you can find something similar i guess. I always think the extra $100 to go thru costco is worth it just because of the return and warranty they offer. You can always roll the dice with newegg...
I guess it just depends on what you think "similar" specs are. 32gb ddr4 vs 32gb ddr5. i7 13620h vs i7-1355. 3.75lb vs 2.2lbs. 3cell 39.3 Whr vs 6cell battery 51/68 Whr. non-touch vs touch.i would still pick the costco for the extra $300.
The Costco dragonfly is 2.6lbs, and not 2.2lbs as listed. Confirmed by multiple people on different forums 2.2lbs is what made it unique and worth it at $1000.
2.6lbs is in the nice, but nothing extraordinary category. The 13.6" MacBook Air is 2.7lbs as an example, and even though I am not an Apple user, can't argue that the MacBook Air is a lot more solidly built compared to any magnesium chassis thin and light PC I have owned.

FYI - i just weighed my g 4 and it was 2.3 lbs so close to 2.2 (and the website says "roughly 2.2 lbs")
That's so strange. I asked a few people to weigh theirs, and I got anywhere from 2.3lbs (you), to a bit over 3lbs. And they all bought their G4s from Costco. What scale did you use to measure it? Is it an accurate postal scale?

Yep it's an accurate scale. I wonder if people who got over 3 lbs were including their charger. The display G4 was definitely lighter compared to other display laptops advertised as a little under or at 3 lbs in store when I picked them up.
