When will a nice backlit keyboard be available for HTPC use?
I think this keyboard is discontinued, although its successor N9Z-00002 is basically the same. OK price if you need it. The similar Logitech K400 Plus goes on sale for $20-$21
YMMV and mine might just be a lemon, but I cannot stand the trackpad on my K400 Plus. Sensitivity seems to vary across the pad and it frequently requires turning on and off to get it to respond to tap clicks.

Just as I'm looking for one of these to make using my ROG ally more usable when connected to a TV! Too bad it's sold from Antonline. I'd rather have sand rubbed in my eyes then potentially have to deal with their slow and trash customer service ever again. Bad seller kills the deal.
Have bunch of these at work .
it works, but dongle is easy to go...
year late, most keyboard trashed around without dongle ...
it is better to have Logi unifying dongle , it is universal ,re-pairable
I hate this keyboard. The keys feel horrible and make it hard to tell if I've hit a key, no backlight, crunched layout that makes some common windows hot keys difficult, and the touchpad doesn't support proper gestures. So things like pinch zooming to enlarge a website for reading at 10 feet in the living room is impossible. That said, all other htpc keyboards are discontinued due to the work from home boom so I guess it's all we have aside from no name Chinese keyboards.

I own it. I also own the Logitech media keyboard version.
The Microsoft one looks so much better. Looks very premium.
HOWEVER, I've moved it elsewhere to a rarely used PC because I hate using it. I switched it to the Logitech version, which doesn't quite look as nice but it's SO MUCH EASIER to use. Productivity is better. Less mis-types. Better touchpad. Better touchpad function keys.
So, I prefer the Microsoft to look at, but strongly prefer the Logitech to use.
People should know that all these Microsoft peripherals are obsolete now, except for newer "Microsoft Surface" branded peripherals ($$$).

I posted a couple of deals last year for ANTONLINE through Amazon and they were banned. Something about supplier not approved. Maybe that's not an issue anymore.
ANTONLINE still isn't a top-tier seller in my opinion. Many of their deals just seam misleading, or bulk repurchases/resales from other retailer clearouts, etc. You may not get new looking packaging.

I have had 2 k400, and now 2 k400+ I use for media pcs... I bought this keyboard a few years back and it's a huge improvement for typing. Track pad is about the same as the k400+. I'm tempted to pick up a second at this price.
I think the K400 has been obsolete for a long time and only available through marketplace resellers. The K400+ (which I own) is great, though I've read the K400 might have a tiny advantage or two (can't remember what now).

how sad that they no longer are in the keyboard market. they used to have at least 30 in their lineup. they only have one mouse, the arc mouse, which looks like a hand torture device.

Is this better than that Logitech one in ANY way? Cause I hate that keyboard so much

I have the K400(r) and the K400+. The most often-mentioned advantage of the K400 is that you can set the function keys to actually *be* function keys without running Logitech software (in Windows). This is handy if you want your function keys to enter your computer's BIOS without having to press the Fn key on the keyboard, for example.
