Since most of you aren't WiFi enthusiasts, let me break this down even further to the most important specs:

WiFi Speeds
6 GHz: 2402 Mbps (802.11ax) - This is 2x2 and that makes it a RED FLAG
5 GHz: 4802 Mbps (802.11ax) - This is 4x4
2.4 GHz: 574 Mbps (802.11ax) - This is 2x2 and seems no one really cares about this in performance testing

Ethernet Ports
1× 2.5 Gbps WAN/LAN Port
1× 1 Gbps WAN/LAN Port
3× 1 Gbps LAN Ports
No 802.3ad support - This means you cannot bond LAN ports

Processor
1.7 GHz Quad-Core CPU
RAM - Unknown - They hide this info
Flash - Unknown - They hide this info

I would not touch this router at $200 or even $100 if you are primarily want to use the 6 GHz band. If you don't care about 6 GHz band then you're okay.

Tplink require subscription to use routers full feature which is disgusting
Needs at least 4 more antennas before I buy.
Iirc it was some advanced security (router level anti-virus) and parental limits stuff, they gave free trials in the beginning and required a subscription to continue using them, and some people were bothered by that.

What are the benefits of a single powerful router over a distributed network of access points with 802.11r for fast roaming? Only thing I can think of is your house isn't wired for cat-5 or you don't want to wire it. Mesh type solutions are ubiquitous these days and similar cost.

A closer signal is always going to be better than a further signal. The physics of signal propagation will always get you.

I have a question. Say that you have the fastest internet it's 10 gigabit per sec. So you can actually use up the entire 7800 megabits per second on this router.

This router wired fastest speed is 2500 megabits or 2.5 gbps

So are they saying these wifi router are now faster than 2.5 gbps wired rj45 connector?

Even if that's true wifi does not beat a wire for stability.

I've done zero research, but my guess is that is the total wifi bandwidth available across all devices, not a single device. My switch has 100gb backplane, but ports max at 10gb.

This thing looks like a spider on steroid if you flip it up side down. Too many legs(antennas) lol

Do you even get how routers work? 4 more antenni will rip a hole in space time itself. Do you want that? Or do you think you can live with "only" 8?

Uhhhh what now?

This site is a great resource, even if you only read the first few paragraphs: https://www.wiisfi.com/

Basically, you're right, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense. That number is the combined total bandwidth available over the antennas. No single device will see these rates. Aside from the numbers being theoretical max, comparing wireless and wired transmission rates doesn't really paint a clear picture either, as there's overhead that wired doesn't deal with.

Theoretically, some benefit could be realized locally if you were using an NAS or media server and moving things internally, or if using some channels for a mesh backhaul and others for your wifi devices.
