About this game:
Write your own epic odyssey and become a legendary Spartan hero. Forge your destiny in a world on the brink of tearing itself apart. Influence how history unfolds in an ever-changing world shaped by your choices.
Set in 431 BC during the Pelopenesian War, play as either a male or female mercenary as you embark on your own epic odyssey to become a legendary Spartan hero in a world where every choice matters.
I've played nearly all of them at least part way though, and Odyssey was the first that I felt like playing past the first few missions/hours. The previous ones I always got bored or frustrated with the gameplay.
That said, I got into both Odyssey and Origins around the same time, and felt Origins had a much more engaging story and characters. Not that Odyssey is bad by any means, and for this price I would highly recommend buying it. Great price.
I've played since the original and then took a break around the middle- there are a TON of AC titles.
I think 2 and 3 are my favorite, although that could be recall bias.
I played a few hours of this one. Took me a while to get into it. I'm with most of you where I enjoy using stealth as an option. When it suits you, but fighting hand to hand should be allowed as well without being too overwhelming.
Missions were enjoyable, but I didn't like the assassins/mercenaries hunting you. I fought the first one and kept losing. You can see their position on the map. At one point i hid in the bushes. The guy literally paced back and forth like he somehow knew I was in the area. Pretty unrealistic. It makes it almost impossible to do missions while they're chasing you. I did a buried treasure mission in the ocean/sea. The person hunting me stayed along the nearest coast the entire time. Like you have some sort of ancient GPS attached to you. Otherwise it was fun to play. I'll likely end up buying it and possible valhalla which is also on sale this month and next.
