Note: This recent Frontpage Deal is now available at a lower price.
Metro By T-Mobile offers Existing Smartphone Plan Customers: 64GB Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ 5G w/ 30-Days Service for $20 when you follow the instructions below. Shipping is free.
Thanks to community member xlnc for finding this deal.
Note: Phone is going in and out of stock; if you see the message "Uh oh, this device is currently unavailable online", try again later.
How to get this offer online:
Purchase a new Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ 5G and pay the applicable sales tax on the pre-credit price at time of purchase. Instant rebate of $279.99 will be applied to the full retail price of $279.99
Activate a new tablet line on a qualifying $20 or higher rate plan to your existing Metro smartphone plan.
Limited-time offer, subject to change. While supplies last. Existing Metro smartphone plan required. Purchase a new Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ 5G and receive an instant $279.99 rebate off the full retail price of 279.99. Applicable tax due at sale. One-time $25 activation fee may be required in-store. Limit 1 tablet instant rebates per household.
To setup the tablet without inserting a SIM card, hold the tablet in landscape orientation (with camera at top) and tap each of the four corners in this order: top left, top right, bottom right, bottom left. Repeat. Repeat again. (12 taps total). Then hold the volume down button for a second, and a "NoSimLock is unlocked!!!" message appears. You can then tap the Start button and continue with setup without a SIM card. (However, if you later insert a SIM card into the tablet, it will initiate a factory reset and you will need to set up the tablet again.)
I went ahead and did the BYOD plan for $30 and was able to purchase the tablet immediately. I debated between that vs getting a new "free" phone first and then sign up for this tablet, but didn't really need a new phone and I'm not sure how long this deal will last if it takes 2-3 business days to get the phone. You'll need to get access to the SMS code sent to the new number before you can register your Metro account online. Total cost for the tablet was $3 (google voice # unlock) + $30 (BYOD plan) + $20 (tablet) = $53.
Update: I was able to order a second tablet (ordered first one yesterday). Use this link and enter your order # to activate the first tablet after it ships (even before you get it). https://www.metrobyt-mobile.com/r...s/activate
Update 2: I see a lot of people reporting that after they add the tablet to the shopping cart and try to place the order, they get message to call into customer service and are unable to complete the order. I saw this post mention the likely causes: https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=170193645&postcount=24
Suggestions based on what worked for me.
1. Try incognito mode or private browsing mode on your browser.
2. Disable any browser ad blockers or whole network blockers such as pi-hole. Also try using a VPN such as Windscribe to bypass your network ad blockers.
3. Use a virtual credit card number from Capital One or Citi cards so Metro sees a new credit card. Another benefit is you can close it out after your purchase to avoid any additional charges (even though it's unlikely).
4. If the above doesn't work, trying shipping to a different address like a relative or friend. Use the name of person at that address (since you don't live there). You will get some verification questions about that person, so you will need to know some info about that person such as the height listed on their driver's license, past address history, colleges attended, vehicle ownership history. You'll have to answer 3 questions from one of those categories (maybe a few I missed).
I can confirm this tablet works with the $10 T-Mobile tablet line even though hasn't officially been unlocked.
So we all paid $50 extra for nothing!!☹️
If you didn't need them you should have left them for other people that do

If we get in on one of those e.g. $40 phone offer by Metro By T-Mobile, how long would we have to wait if any to be able to see this offer in our account or to be able to call in to obtain this tablet?
It's not a specific offer added to account. You should be able to order it as soon as you activate the phone line that's because metro doesn't let you order more than one line at a time

all you need is an online account. Metro request SMS verification for log on. So you need to actually have the phone on hand to log on your account. Based on my experience, it will take 3 business days for the phone to arrive after you place the order.
Not eligible wtf? And this is on the account I set up for my father-in-law back in December, so it's not like it's a new acc, he's had service for 5 months.
EDIT: navigated to the page (from my account) in a different tab and now I can order it.
AAAAAAAND kicked out because they can't "verify my identity" even though I bought the phone through them on their stupid website before. They asked me a bunch of personal questions including ones that were just flat out wrong, like "how tall does my drivers license say I am" when none of the options are correct, or a bunch of cars I've never owned. Classic smoke show.
EDIT 3: After raging a little, I tried again with google chrome instead of firefox and the transaction went through with no problems, it didn't even play 21 questions. What a weird experience.
Had a line open from the $40 various phone promo over a month ago. My first month is already up by a week or so. Before my first month was over, I had an Add a Line option. I no longer see that option when logging into my account. I tried to click the extend for 72 hours option so my account is temporarily active again. Still no Add a Line option. Anyone with an expired account able to get this deal?
Why are the instructions to "purchase it" then get an instant rebate. Is it add it to cart then instant rebate applied before paying? Or actually making a full priced purchase and getting a Visa Gift Card or refund or something?

It's applied in the cart. I was only charged $20, no tax or other fees
Website showed that I was ineligible to add a line regardless of what browser I tried. Called the help line and they told me it was because I am on the 4 person family plan for $120.
The rep knew exactly what to do. She temporarily changed my plan away from the family plan, ordered the tablet, then switched me back to my original plan in a little over 30 minutes.
I have to admit, I'm very impressed by the support

Steps I took.
1. Signed up for a google voice number using a junk email.
2. Set up a voicemail PIN and then paid $3 to unlock the number. Follow these instructions: https://slickdeals.net/f/17325810-metro-by-t-mobile-port-in-new-number-offers-select-smartphone-30-days-service-from-40-free-shipping?p=1695
3. Signed up for the $30 plan using an eSIM. https://slickdeals.net/f/17143504-esim-bring-your-number-online-25-metro-by-t-mobile-single-line-phone-plan-unlimited-5g-data
4. After paying for $30 plan, I wasn't able to add the tablet initially. It showed an error saying call in (I didn't). I logged into the account with another browser and then was able to buy the tablet for $20. I'm not able to buy more than 1, the second attempt it errors with "Sorry, you are not eligible to add a new line".

OP says it's limited to 1 per household, unless you want to try going to a B&M store
It's applied in the cart. I was only charged $20, no tax or other fees
