Do we have to wait for the first tablet to ship before trying to order second tablet? I mean as per the post and comments in first few pages it's mentioned that tablet needs to be activated with shipping details before placing second order. Is it still the case or have anyone successfully placed order for a second tablet before activating the first one?

I opened up a new BYOD account using a different name and shipping address with a new credit card. Tried to order an A9+ and still got a "call us" message. I'm not even sure how they are tracking my ban (I assume it's a ban).

At first I just assumed all new accounts under 30 days get that. But since some people in this thread seemed successful, I wasn't sure.

That's probably it tbh. who knows what the successful people here have going. they typically don't tell the whole story. maybe they have 5 year old accounts that have paid thousands to metro in the past, and therefore are in very good standing.

If you try hard enough you can eliminate every possible thing they could track you by, (if you delete cookies, use a VPN, new name/address/card). The final thing is, you can be banned by browser footprint, as it turns out browser configs are unique to like 1 in a million. But, using a different browser would beat that too. And frankly I dont think browser footprint is used to ban almost at all anywhere on the internet. I just mention it because once I was banned by a small message board, and tried every single thing to get back, couldn't for the life of me figure out how they were tracking me, turned out they were using browser footprint on top of the normal stuff. But afaik it's pretty unheard of. Which leaves the new account as the issue.

Anyways cant complain, got my third A9 in the mail from calling today. I was just playing around to see if I could order anymore without calling. If I could, I'd probably get a couple more.

AFAIK, you can only activate the tablet once it's shipped. That was the case for me.

naaaa...
activated w sim card.
did some surfing using data.
took out sim.
sold as wi fi tablet.
1 person inquired abt using as 5g on metro.
i told them they can , but only after 2 months.
they were fine with that.

odd...that a metro customer would buy mine, rather from metro directly.
but they were happy.
according to them: "really nice tablet. thank you".

got 3.
kept 1 for son.
was gonna to keep 1 for me.

hoping to get another.
but get the "call rep" error
Did you wait to order your second tablet before first shipped and activated first and then ordered second or second tablet can be placed before I activating first tablet?

I don't think it's a new account thing. When I opened my first Metro account back in March, I was able to order a tablet a week or so after (A7Lite).

Could be a new account combined with ordering a certain number of times quickly etc. And I have used these metro deals under prior accounts in the past, that may factor too. Who knows. In this age it could be some AI algorithm that takes a lot into account.

Also it's possible something like the A7 lite is profitable and therefore they have no reason to protect it like a loss leader.

IIRC right off the bat I couldn't order online though. maybe the waiting one week made the difference. a lot of variables.

To ensure a successful Best Buy trade:

1. Dont insert a SIM ( it will create a splash screen with Metro Logo)
2. Reset the tablet, and disable the SIM lock requirement.
3. Have the device ON during trade process.
4. Dont tell them its a 5G model
5. Mention the model name and point at the white sticker on the back of the tablet for serial/IMEI number

If its not successful, either come back after the Best Buy employee's shift or visit another Best Buy YMMV

How was your trade-in process? I traded my tablet in CA, and I have to give them my driver license and thumb print. That's just too much personal info, what happens when BestBuy gets hack.

Both. First time I actually waited to receive the tablet activated insert sim. Go on mobile data. Did some surfing on the mobile 5G.Then order the second one. On the second one I activated while in transit. & order the third one
