Tablo 4 Tuner Over-the-Air DVR 128 Gb w/ Antenna with 30-Mile Range
$129.99 HSN (reg. $199.99)

https://www.hsn.com/products/tabl...n/23251366

$159.99 at Amazon
$139.99 at Best Buy (as low as $99.99 w/o antenna on sale)

I could not get HSN coupons to work with this (even with different email).

I wanted to try out Tablo as a OTA tuner and recording (since installing my radiant barrier in my attic, I've had poor reception on some channels).
Good Deal?

I guess I don't understand why companies are still selling ATSC 1.0 tuner DVR's. Why wouldn't they be selling DVR's that support both ATSC 1.0 and 3.0 (ie. Nextgen TV) at this point? I won't buy another DVR with at least 4 tuners until they support ATSC 3.0. Are they just trying to clear out their inventory of ATSC 1.0 tuner DVR's by putting them on sale?

Perhaps ATSC 1.0 will be around longer than anticipated??

That's a TWO (2) tuner, not a FOUR (4) tuner:

$160 at Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/Tablo-4-Tu...9hdGY&th=1

4 tuner, no antenna $140 at Amazon:

That's for the 2 tuner model.

Unless it's just you watching. 2 tuners are not enough. Sometimes my 4 tuner (recast) is not enough for two people.

More than likely. I think the transition has been pushed back a few times already (2027 now?) and most of the general public doesn't really care about OTA tv.

The DRM part of ATSC 3.0 is still being worked out. At this point, ATSC 1.0 is likely to be around for at least another 7 years.

I don't think it's about clearing out inventory. I think it's more that for most of the US, there's not much, if any, ATSC 3.0 stations yet and it's cheaper to include ATSC 1.0-only tuners.

Doesn't look like the antenna is amplified. OP have you tried an amplified antenna or signal booster for your existing antenna? Radient barrier or metal roofing can block signals. In my case I used the previous owner's satellite dish and cabling to place an antenna on the roof without much hassle. Removed dish and zip tied a TV antenna up there. Used the existing cables to get the signal to the livingroom outlet. Connected the booster indoors between TV and cable outlet on the wall. Easy mode for better reception.

Yes, I have an amplified antenna or signal booster on my TV in my kitchen (most used). I've had issues on some channels anyway before the radiant barrier (in the suburbs) and wanted to try the Tablo with the antenna on an exterior window just to add some DVR capability.
