Update: I ordered these on 4/25 and were marked shipped the same day. Scheduled to arrive on 4/29.

Inspired by the Wilson Staff V6 irons and designed to meet the performance requirements of our Tour Staff players, Staff Model CB irons feature modern control, workability, and forgiveness with a classic look and feel that pays tribute to their long history of era-defining irons.

Features:

Tri-Brace Stabilizer on the back of the clubhead helps transfer more energy to the ball while delivering incredible sound and feel

Twenty grams of high-density tungsten in the toe of long and mid irons enhances head stability at impact and lowers the center of gravity

Forged 8620 carbon steel face is backed by an integrated impact mass area provides a solid, muscle back-like feel but with a cavity back design

Grip: Golf Pride Tour Velvet

Condition: New

No. Not really. Google game improver irons. Plenty of options out there. Callaway golf preowned is a good spot with the next sale likely the weekend of the US Open.

Good luck. Golf is a geeat game.
If you know…you know. I have to Tour V6 irons and I can't part with them. The CB's are amazing and feel is as good as any forged iron out there. This is a steal if you're a player. Check your ego, you will be pleasantly surprised.

These feel very good with flushed shots and offer mild forgiveness. You will lose distance if you hit all around the face so be truthful with how consistent you are with ball striking. Very workable with compact head design. Very little offset. Traditional lofts so not made for low swing speeds if distance is your biggest Achilles heel.

The last time I was very serious about golf, I bought Srixon I-506 (about 15 or so years ago).

I was never good enough to play blades, but "thick" beginner irons with a huge top top and massive face made me swing less accurately. The 506's were a good compromise.

I wanna start playing more, and maybe new clubs that are a little easier will help me out.

Whats a good set of irons for someone who is was decent at one time, but now only plays a few times a year?

Looking for medium head size, thin top line, not a huge offset, and consistent feel regardless of where you make contact on the club face.

And is it better to buy something a few years old USED off ebay?

Get these are the Wilson D9s which are also $500 from the same place. The D9s will probably be a little easier to hit. I have these ones and I love them

Look up game improvement irons, there are 3 or 4 sets highly recommended by most experts. Callaway mavrik being one of them off the top of my head

Take a look at the Srixon zx7 clubs. I fell in love with them the first time I hit them. Just enough forgiveness and they don't look like a giant chunk of metal at the end of a stick. BTW, I'm a 20 handicap but have shot and 88 and 89 in my last two rounds. I used to buy used off Ebay, but this is the first set I actually went and got fitted.

For the price it is a good set to grow into. So instead of getting a starter set and upgrade a few times, just buy it and call it good. You may struggle in the beginning but will figure it out after using it. Your next upgrade will be fitted clubs which will be over $1K. That is if you don't quit the game by then… LOL

Purchased these 2 days ago. No shipping update yet (most likely due to weekend).

I am very excited for them to come.
