Thank you for this! Needed a new backpack, I decided on the larger DLX version because I need the stacking strap. I also saw that their glider (same idea as the MUCH more expensive Samsonite stryde2 or elevation plus) is down to ~$60 with this sale. I'm waffling, but I think I'll end up pulling the trigger.

Is this the death knell of ebags? I know Samsonite has been slowly eroding the 'brand' since they bought it, but this sure feels like the end of days for them.

I agree. I've been wondering the same. I have so many of their bags from sales lately. I also bought the glider as it seemed the same exact thing as the samsonite that is hundreds of dollars. Made of of polycarbonate just like the samsonite too.

If the brand is dying that's a real shame. Some great quality items to be had before they do though. The sale is awesome.

Yes, they do seem to have crazy sales all the time though but I don't follow closely enough to know if this is a typical sale for them or not. Anyone know?

Also thanks for posting, I picked up the laptop slim weekender backpack. I've read mixed reviews but I love the organization of it, at least in the pics, but for 50ish I couldn't say no

Amazon has the same bag for $54 as well, but offers a 20% off coupon that you can clip. Free shipping on Amazon and orders are fulfilled by eBags.

That's a great deal. Link? Also the ebags website has 70% off everything if there's anything else you have your eye on. Plus the ol' new email (don't check out with PayPal or Apple Pay) welcome15 trick.

Edit: found it

I have had the Mother Load Jr for a few months now. It is very well made with a lot of thoughtful design features (Outside pockets, water bottle holder etc). I have used it as a personal item on several flights and it fits well under the seat, although it can be a tight fit. It holds an absolutely massive amount and with the straps, you can really crank it down. One call out is that it is on the heavy side and the back is fairly stiff so it doesnt pack down well. The $54 price was the same as Black Friday/Christmas I believe.

I'm using it on a trip now. Solid and fits quite a bit. Great bag, I have already been complimented by airport staff on shape and function/form.

Only thing i don't like is the TSA locking option is built in. It's really great to be honest, but if it ever breaks (which is unlikely, and for $60 I'll take the long term chance), you cannot lock it any other way.

How have you found the support system and straps? I had trouble with my first one, but I struggle with military related back, neck, and shoulder issues.

I have been strengthening and considering giving it another go while it's on discount.

The Jr does not have a waist strap if that is something you are valuing. While the straps are not super comfortable, I tend to only use one over my should and its been fine. I do enjoy the ability to store one or both straps when not using them.
There is also a sturdy handle on top if you prefer to carry the bag that way. Hope this helps
