Bambino plus has a back off value for steam pressure release -- this QOL feature
And the porta filter is much better quality compared to regular Bambino.,-- this definitely makes difference in shot that's being pulled

There are two major differences between Bambino Plus and Bambino:

1) Bambino Plus has a 3-way valve. It makes the process more consistent, easier to dial in. On the other hand, not having this valve is actually a huge advantage if you want to do an extra-long pre-infusion (you can start a preinfusion, then stop manually, wait 10 seconds, and start again; you can only do this on Bambino, because the 3-way valve will prevent this).
Also, not having this valve makes cleaning so much easier. You don't need to backflush at all, the machine stays clean.

2) Bambino Plus comes with a stainless steel portafilter (worth $60), while Bambino comes with a plated aluminium one (worth $20). It does not matter if you are gonna use the stock basket. But if you want to upgrade to an IMS basket, for example, then you would have to remove the plastic bit from the portafilter, and then hot acidic espresso will come into contact with plated aluminium, which might be a health hazard.

By the way, I think, I should create a slickdeal for the IMS basket. It has recently dropped to $15 (I bought it for $21 and thought that it was an amazing deal).
IMS Precision - 54mm espresso portafilter triple basket B62.52TH28E (compatible with Breville Bambin...
Great info. I would recommend the H24 (14-18) version of the IMS basket though.

Guidance has been to avoid 2023 models. So due diligence is required by the consumer to ensure they're getting an unaffected product run.

Not sure if it helps, but I have seen this quite often in NYC Marshalls and TJMaxx for $299. They also have the other Breville machine for $399.
Any specific location? I have popped into the Chelsea/Columbus Circle locations every once in a while, but haven't spotted it yet. Only the juicer.

I've owned this machine since October 2022, with about 2-3 average shots/day. It's a great budget/starter machine for the price.

It heats up in seconds (as opposed to 5+ minutes with other machines), and the automatic frother works great.

For anyone getting into espresso, I highly recommend getting a separate bottomless portafilter and a precision (IMS) basket (18g).

You should also weigh your beans for consistency.

Another important factor is ground bean consistency. You could definitely get by with using a cheap grinder, but you'll get inconsistent outputs. If you're on a budget, either get a hand grinder or a DF64, or similar for around $200. It will make a very big difference.

One last thing to add, to top the deal off, Breville also owns the site Beanz, which also has free coffee/CB promotions (including now).

Edit:
Also forgot to mention that you should definitely get a new tamper as well. Preferably a self-leveling one (like a Normcore v4)
Excellent recommendations. (Except - bottomless portafilter is not 100% necessary; you can buy it later, when you wish to upgrade your game further).

DF64 costs around $400
an excellent manual grinder (Kingrinder K6) costs $100. Another highly regarded brands are 1zpresso (more expensive) and Commandante (much more expensive).

Attachment 15384180

edit: oops, that's actually the price with just the registry coupons and no redcard. it's $274.54 + tax with the 5% redcard discount
Can't find that deal at all. I only see the bambino not the plus.

Bro you getting wedding and baby at the same time? Living life on edge and you deserve that ~30% discount. You are going to need lot of espresso either way.

they don't ask for proof that you are actually getting married or having a baby. you just fill the forms out with whatever info you want and then they send the coupons 2 weeks later

how/where do you get the "registry" coupons?
i'm pretty sure it's the 'create a registry' 15% off
you make a baby registry, a wedding registry, and they send you 15% off coupons for each
problem is it takes 2 weeks to get them, so maybe not enough time for this deal before the price goes back up

One of the best purchases I ever made during COVID. Great form factor, consistent, and fast heating. Good price good buy. Don't listen to the naysayers.

I bought a Barista Pro for $450 a bit over a year ago (BBB SD), but knowing what I know now, would have opted for this and saved the rest for a better grinder. Since then, got a manual Flair p58 and only use the Breville for single shots and milk-steaming.
