How many months/years of waiting is worth $9.95 to you?
This just got released last year, I believe. You might be thinking of the regular Baratza Encore (no espresso settings) which retails at 150 usd.
Gr8 grinder. Been using mine for 4+ years with no issues. This thing is a work horse. Buy one, lasts a life time or at least a long time lol

I have a Baratza Sette 270 grinder, which is excellent for espresso (but will not do for any other grind) - needed it for ultrafine grind that a manual espresso machine demands. Not sure if I purchased the Encore, it would be able to grind fine enough for a manual press machine. I see others in this thread using it for espresso, though…

I bought a Vario decades ago, I tell everyone this is the best version for every day home use. Absolute workhorse. I've had to replace pulleys on my unit, not hard to do and the Baratza company is probably the best I've ever dealt with. Period.

Quite a liberal use of the term decades considering the Vario only went on sale in 2008, only one decade and a half ago. I'd believe 10 years or something around that though, these things are indeed built well.

Just picked one up in white. My Cuisinart grinder, which I loathe but remained functional, is now having issues and I'll gladly be rid of it
