The name G Loomis for the most part.... They are really really nice. But 400 dollars? come on, Will it give you some kind of unique advantage thats worth paying hundreds of dollars more for it worth it? No, it wont. If you sucked at fishing, this rod will 100% not make you any better at it. Besides, these days, you can get very very good bass rods made with very high quality blanks for 50 bucks, even less. They might not have hand tied titanium line guides on them like G Loomis ones do but really people. 400 dollars? I've owned many Fenwick brand rods that I've paid around a hundred dollars for each and even thats more than 99% of fisherman should really pay. For the exception of fringe brands like G Loomis, High quality fishing equipment has really gotten a lot more affordable compared to 25 to 30 years ago.
Fishing...... The most expensive way to get dinner for free. LOL

Why can't weight and sensitivity of a rod not make a difference? Cast all day with a heavier rod and fatigue will set in faster. Miss light strikes or have a more difficult time bouncing off the bottom or structure can be the difference between getting stuck or bit.
Will it matter 90% of the time? Probably not but to some it matters and to others it won't.
I have literally abused the heck out of my loomis rods and still haven't broken it even when I fish with it way more than my cheaper rods which I've broken including st croix, daiwa, cabelas ptc, lews etc.

If you have enough money to buy G Loomis rods, then abuse them like you say you do, then go ahead. You obviously aren't the average fisherman, with average fisherman money. And no, they aren't stronger than regular 100 dollar rods. in fact, cheaper fiberglass rods are stronger than graphite rods. Trade off is fiberglass isn't nearly as sensitive but I can snap a graphite G-Loomis before you can snap a cheapo ugly stick, or any average fiberglass rod for that matter. People that buy G Loomis are the same ppl that spend 250,000 on a 4 wheel drive mercedes SUV then baby & garage keep it all shined up and sparkly after they buy it, not doing actual 4 wheeling off the trail with it. Too expensive to abuse it doing what its supposed to do. A good fisherman with a 50 dollar complete rod and reel combo will outfish an idiot with a 700 dollar rod and reel combo every single time. The differences you're talking about are so microscopically negligible and only make a difference in the laboratory where they are tested with expensive lab equipment, not in a humans hand. Under real world use & in the hands of any decent fisherman. You will see absolutely zero improvement in fishing ability just because you pay hundreds more for your rod than others do.
