Went by the Temecula Costco around 4p this afternoon and they have the 48" at 999.99; double checked with their administrative desk up front and she confirmed the price was 999.99, last week it was 1099.99. She also checked other warehouses in the region and no one has it at 700.00, bummer.
Nevermind…

If you're talking about the Reddit post, they said that whoever purchase it last, switched their old LG and returned it. The store was not supposed to re-sell it.
It is also a lie and not possible. 16,000/24/365 is over 1.8 years, which is longer than the TV has been available for purchase.

I believe he/she said he/she found out it was a c7.

People really need to stop worry about burn in. It's a non issue. It's been the big buggaboo since the plasma days and even back then with older technology it was largely a non issue. Nowadays with pixel shift and built in cleaning programs it's a total non issue. Only time I would worry about it is when considering buying a display model.

As a personal anecdote my main TV is a 15 year old plasma and I game with persistent static displays. The only issue I had was some temporary image retention when I paused Star Wars on a Hoth scene. It was gone in a couple days.

Also for the technology itself Wulfden has done a test on YouTube where he's had an OLED Switch on a static screen or over a year and it finally got burn in after months and months of being constantly on. So again. Burn in for OLED is a non issue.
I am hoping it's not an issue anymore. I have an older LG 65" OLED (I think it might be a B7). We picked it up in 2017 and it was fine for years. And then seemingly overnight it developed permanent image retention/burn-in from the Apple TV app screen. Sucks. So I'm looking to replace it.

Dropped by at local Costco. Have C4s in house and a lot of C3 stock but no sales just yet 😭. Not sure how to know when it'll go in stock, guess will just be pure luck.
Similar story at my local Costco. They had a 77" C4 on display. And then at least 3 65" C3's in boxes on the floor along with at least 6 more stored high above on those big racks. Not sure when/if they will be motivated to discount those.

I need a new 65"

I was at the SE San Diego location on Saturday and it was 1099.99. When I asked if it might be discounted soon, the associate there checked and said it would go down by $100 on Monday (to 999.99), which it did. A call to La Mesa on Monday confirmed that theirs were also at that price, so I am going to wait and see if I get lucky later in the week as that seems to be the new price. That $700 price was a great find and I'm still holding out hope!

Went to Chantilly, VA store today. They had plenty of C3's at various sizes but none were discounted.

I don't know about that. I've seen 2 Costco's with C4 models available on the floor and no sign of deals. As per the employee who I talked to, if they don't sell fast they'll have to lower the prices, but it is unclear when that might happen and might be driven depending on the individual stock each store has

Maybe nowadays that's the case, but burn-in was definitely real back in the old days. We burned in the 0% health from Super Smash Bros Melee on the college dorm lounge TV. We played that game for like 3-4 hours a night for 2 years and that's when we started to notice it lol

Went to Dallas Costco today and not only were the racks full of C4s, they had non discounted C3s right next to them with price valid until 5/30 on the tag 🤷

Any deal expected for Memorial day weekend or prior to that? But there should be sufficient inventory for that.
