Because it's a sale across multiple websites, it's a deal that they run 3-4 times a year.
That's not how deals work. 😂 Just because multiple places have something on sale for the same good price doesn't mean it's not a deal. You compare it to the price it normally is to determine a deal.
you had me until "expresso"

There is nothing wrong with this setup but the Breville grinder leaves a lot to be desired. I would definitely recommend more of a standalone espresso machine + grinder (separate machines) so if you get really into it like me you can upgrade one or the other without having to replace both. I have a Lelit Bianca + DF83V, but if I was to recommend something in this price range it would definitely be the Turin Legato paired with the DF54. I think the results will be far superior, especially with a flat burr grinder that good.

DF83V is amazing grinder but it's more than espresso machine!
I've been using 870XL for last 5 years and it's amazing. You do have to dial in built in grinder though. You can adjust it more internally as well (other than using the side knob).
If I were to upgrade in the future I'd probably go with standalone grinder but for that you need $$$$ budget.

I hope my comment here will help someone avoid buying these machines and breville. I own two of these machines. The express impress and a regular express. I have them specifically for my solo office and only use filtered water. A few months of usage, the gauge broke on my express impress but it still did pulls. I did a warranty repair through customer service anyway and spent $20 to ship it out because the expensive models they won't send you a box or replacement. They sent it back cosmetically damaged; the repair tech they outsource in brooklyn acid burned the side of my machine and they sent it back to me acting like nothing was wrong.

It took like 10 calls and wasted time just to get some form of reimbursement (2 portafilters) because they were too cheap of a company to send a label back and get my machine properly fixed. I had to literally DM the brand on instagram to get a proper response because I was getting the runaround.. which I never do it's a literal joke. That's how trash this company is even though it's worth like $2B. It wasn't even about money; it's just principle on a repair and they simply don't care even if you're a repeat customer.

If you are on the fence of buying this, avoid it. The machine is "OK" at best. You always have to dial the grind constantly because the longer the beans sit in the tank, it will get stale and the ratios mess up. The breville company is also garbage. Avoid.

the best beans in the world are obtained from an isolated native tribe deep in the amazon rainforest. They have one small trading post that deals with outsiders to the tribe, and that is only open for trade for one day every 6 months! Beans are hand roasted by spiritual adepts high on psychedelics, and thus the chi in this coffee bean is at the highest level. God coffee and absolutely worth the effort to get it.

Not really - just wait for a deal on a Baratza Sette 270 and you are done. It's loud, but excellent for espresso, and you can convert it to doserless (zero retention) with an Etsy / Alibaba billows kit. I have the Barista Pro and stopped using its grinder after getting the Sette 270 (and mostly stopped using the machine itself after getting the manual Flair p58, so the Pro is mainly used for milk-steaming now).

Had I been doing this all over again, would have gotten the grinder wiith the billows kit/ Flair p58+, a decent espresso coffee scale and (Acaia Lunar) and would use a stand-alone small used boiler machine just for milk steaming function (can't get decent microfoam from Aerolatte et al).

Still debating between the pro for 680 or the touch for 800… seems everything is the same specs for pulling a shot (except the screen) but the steam wand is automatic on the touch. Never steamed milk before so that might be nice just don't know if it is worth it in the long run. Thoughts?

if you enjoy the time of making coffee, you do not need auto steam.
I own touch impress and sometimes use auto steam, believe or not, the auto steam can still allow me to do latte art, but it does create some small bubbles, so most of time, I use manual mode to get perfect milk steam for latte art. also, I like the design of the pro, looks modem to me. the touch is kind of old design. but this is very personal.

both machine get updated bonanza grinder, retention is ok with aftermarket bellow, and extremely consistent, on a par with $300-500 stand alone grinder

Have had this machine for over a year. Use it daily, love our lattes. Def buy fresh beans and all the little accessories you need to make a proper shot. We bought a stand alone grinder recently as the built in one was average. Highly recommend this!

Just found a Breville barista pro at HomeGoods for 499. Great deal. I called around and eventually found one in my area. Thanks for the tip.
