Makes sense.

Was about to say something but I see Slickdeals telling me OP is a new member.

OP u might want to change the title to properly reflect what the main product here is. Just copy paste the heading from source

Is this the best current deal per the specs/price ratio?

https://www.microcenter.com/produ...5-5600_RAM

Anything that makes the ^ above ^ worth $50 more?

The HP has Ryzen 7 8845HS 3.8GHz
The Acer has Ryzen 7 7735HS 3.2GHz

The 8845 seems to be better than the 7735 head to head

On the plus side for the Acer it's lighter at 4.63 lbs compared to the HP at 5.06 lbs

Side note: Microcenter does not seem to have free shipping. I see minimum $20 for shipping, plus taxes and fees.

That's a good catch on the shipping, appreciate the response.

8845HS is way better than 7735HS. 8845HS is based on Zen 4 architecture, similar to desktop 7000 series Ryzen whereas 7735Hs is just a rebranded Ryzen 7 6800H, based on Zen 3. 8845HS is nearly 20% faster in sinle threaded and 16% in multi-threaded benchmarks.

75w according to Acer: https://www.acer.com/us-en/laptop....QPDAA.001

Weak display as well @ 45% NTSC.

But still, it is a 4060. Good starter laptop for gaming.

Better processor, slightly better screen (62.5% vs 45%), SD card reader. Not sure what the power is on the 4060, but it won't be lower than the Acer. Definitely worth $50.

4060 makes for a good "starter" gaming laptop? Wow. I would think something with a 1650 would make a good "starter", a 4060 is properly mid-range.

You make a good point. Even I get caught up in it. I have a 4070 based desktop and a 4050 based laptop. They are both excellent devices, but it's not like I can't play these games on a 1650, or a 3050 and still enjoy the game, just at a lower resolution or detail level. A 4060 is a mid range GPU. You're right.
