Yes. She will. As long as she doesn't violate any other requirements ( 5/24 , has no other sapphire card )
Did you get it in branch or online? I know someone who applied in branch last week , they went back this week and got the additional bonus applied to their account.
If online, chances are slim, but you can call sapphire helpline and see if they are willing to do it for you.
Like you, the lounge access is the most important perk to me. It has been a real life saver several times... either to relax in when I'm exhausted during a long layover, or when I'm in a rush and need some quick grub.
Besides that... 5X / 10X points when you book travel through the Chase portal? That's worth something, although half the time it seems like the airfares in the Chase portal are higher than booking directly with the airline. So I dunno.
It's more like $45 CSP vs $250 CSR if you consider the $50 hotel credit that CSP gives when booking hotel using the chase travel portal.
the main advantage for CSR would be the 1.5x bonus when booking using the chase portal.
Go back to the branch and talk to the same person. I know someone who got it last Friday for 70k points and got it updated to 85k yesterday.
The branch rep would need to call the sapphire customer care and may have to go higher up the chain to get it applied.
The branch rep also said you can call the sapphire line yourself and request it. i would rather go with the branch rep who got the initial credit for opening the application.
Good luck!
Jon

Question for anyone who keeps this card after the first year payoff, what keeps you paying that stiff fee other than forgetting to cancel or protecting your FICO score?

Just downgrade to a cheaper freedom
I have 2x freedom unlimited cards right?
Pays for my Global Entry.
Lounge access + 2 free guests.
Car rental primary collision/insurance.
3x on dining which is usually 1500+ points per month.
Even more this month with the Freedom Flex getting 7x at restaurants.
I will miss the Priority Pass restaurant benefit ending later this year. That was easy to get value from. Fingers crossed they give us something to make up for that, but not holding my breath.
If you don't travel or dine out a lot this card might not make the most sense for you. But it works well for me.
