I had an iPhone 11 up until 2023 and the main issue was that the chip would get crazy hot. Battery was also affected by that

Thnak you! Glad DL or PP is all that's required.
edit: you have to create one by toggling on the "call to hear voicemail" setting under voicemail.

I'm guessing it will be fine for another 3 easy.
I cannot compare it to a newer iPhone or flagship android though.
100 bucks with 2 months unlock? I'd get it again if I needed to.
Edit: I may find MagSafe on the 12 to have some practical uses for me. I also see that finding official cases etc for the 11 (Verizon sale etc) non-viable. Those factors may sway me in favor of the 12.

iPhone16 (releases this year) -11=5 years old.
About $1000 when it was new is about $17/month "subscription".
I'm ok with that monthly cost for the lack of changes between versions. 5G hasn't been an issue, and I'd be surprised if it actually is for most people. 5G is great for home internet with multiple devices, however. I can't argue that. Hopefully the 16 unveils something that tips the scale so I can have usb-c. Until then, I have lightning chargers for days!
