The iPhone 11 is very old at this point, I wouldn't recommend anything older than the iPhone 12.

I had an iPhone 11 up until 2023 and the main issue was that the chip would get crazy hot. Battery was also affected by that

I was using an iPhone 11 like 6 months ago and it was behaving totally fine. Disagree that it's not usable right now, and the battery life will be right up there with the 12 whose battery life was natively poor.

Your mom probably just try to save some money cuz she thinks a new iPhone costs a lot.
But she doesn't know:
-new iPhone 11 only $100 now. woot
-Sooner or later her iP7 battery will degrade, won't last long or died when she needed it most.
-Some app might not run on iOS 15 or no more security update in the future.
-iPhone 7 will become obsolete soon.

Just get her a new iPhone 11 for Mother's day. She'll thanks you for it.
Much bigger screen, bigger battery, faster processor, better camera, etc.
But if she still like smaller phone with home button, then get her an iPhone SE 2 or 3.

Can I move to Tracfone before the 60 day period is up? Since Tracfone is part of Verizon will the days on Verizon (close to but less then 30) plus the days on Tracfone qualify towards the 60 days needed for unlocking?
