I had an iPhone 11 up until 2023 and the main issue was that the chip would get crazy hot. Battery was also affected by that

I received a VM (to my contact number listed on my TbV account) saying the number porting is in progress and it should be completed by tomorrow at 2PM ET. I then got the email from Google saying the GV number has been ported away.
I rebooted the phone a few minutes later and it registered with the network and asked me whether I wanted to set up Wi-Fi calling, etc. I sent a test text message, which worked. I then texted "UNLOCK" to 611611 twice and it replied with my unlock date ~59 days from now. I then turned off the phone and put it in a drawer.
The line shows activated and displays my ported # on the TbV site and all looks well.
EDIT: I don't know whether this is THE way to do it. Just sharing what made sense to me after reading through the whole thread and what ended up working for me.
Pin you have to create in your GV account settings by toggling on "Call to listen" under voicemail settings.
Transferred one more line today. Still waiting.

Make sure you're logged in to the correct account (if you have multiple accounts) or maybe they didn't link your plan to your IMEI
You get 2 emails when its ships -- one for shipping and one for "trying to add a new device" (guessing they're linking the IMEI/ICCID/plan to your account)
