The iPhone 11 is very old at this point, I wouldn't recommend anything older than the iPhone 12.

I had an iPhone 11 up until 2023 and the main issue was that the chip would get crazy hot. Battery was also affected by that

I was using an iPhone 11 like 6 months ago and it was behaving totally fine. Disagree that it's not usable right now, and the battery life will be right up there with the 12 whose battery life was natively poor.

I ordered separately
Are both phones ordered from the same account? If yes, did Total detect that the 2nd phone is the 2nd line in the same account and give you $20 off the plan ($30 for the $50 plan) ?

I ran into this issue last week for a few days even though my GV number was locked the whole time. If anyone encounters this, just keep trying every few hours until your number is validated.
just received a call and was told it will be fully activated on 6/3. It is about 4-5 days long (for GV).

I created a new account & I keep getting this error while trying to add the plan:
We apologize, but we cannot process your transaction at this time. Please try again later or call us at 1-866-663-3633.
I also got this message when trying to activate the second phone. Does anyone know the reason? Thanks

Total Wireless web site seems to be glitchy today. I got the "can't process transaction" when trying to order another iphone11. Got past it after closing the message and tried again, but it couldn't verify my phone number (which it was able to yesterday).

I used this phone for approximately 6 months of this year. I'm not a particularly demanding user, I dont game or do anything intensive with my phone. So I figured I'd save the money on a flagship and trade in my aging S10 for samsungs latest midranger.

It was a mistake, I knew its exynos processor isnt as capable and it's not a huge ordeal for me to wait a second or two for an app to launch. Overall performance was comparable to my S10, but what really ruined it for me was the stuttering animations and laggy scrolling. Made the 120hz display pointless imo so I turned it off. I hoped an update would come fix it but alas it never happened.

To its credit, it did have good battery life and a nice display for video watching (the bezels didn't bother me, though I understand some people hate them).

Picked up the S23+ on sale and couldn't be happier now. This thing is fast. I'll keep the A54 as a backup.
Search a54 lag, it's everywhere.

if you port out # from T-mobile (4th family line), would t-mobile will automatically cancelled the line and reduce the monthly fee in the next billing cycle? or should i call tmobile to cancel the line?

Also, is there restriction to port back into t-mobile after 1 month of service with total?

Option A (let the new phone sit 2mo until it unlocks if your son can keep using old phone)
- get a new google voice number for free
- use that to order $50 iP11 + $50 plan = $100+taxes
- pay $3 to unlock GV number for porting if your Total order ships out
- complete activation and port GV number over
- don't pay for 2nd month service
- let the phone sit for 60 days from activation until it unlocks and then use the phone on your son's VZ line

Option B (if he needs to use the new phone right now)
- use a GV number just to order the phone + plan (don't pay $3 for unlock since you won't port that number)
- wait for the order to come in the mail
- port your son's VZ number over to Tello (TMo) $5 plan in the evening and let it sit overnight
- in the morning port the number again from Tello (TMo) to Total (VZ)
- pay for 2nd month (there might be a referral rewards promo for enough points to get 3rd month free so you might have to find someone that actually uses the service)
- after the phone is unlocked then you can port back to your VZ plan

Unlock your son's old phone and if it supports eSIM then you can use eSIM on Tello for free -- otherwise order a $2 Tello sim kit:
This is a great instruction- Now, would you be able to instruct option C for current TMO users? Assuming TMO users cannot port # to Tello?

Line needs to be active in order to port so don't cancel it -- porting out the line will automatically cancel that line (your account will continue with the remaining 3 lines)

You can port back to TMo later at any time -- no guarantee of same price if you currently have a discounted/promo 4th line

Just port directly from TMo to Total

VZ owns Total so coming from VZ to Total directly may not be a normal port (might be number migration) which can cause issues during activation and the phone may not properly unlock after 60 days -- for VZ its better to go to Tello (TMo) first then port again to Total (VZ)

So I got my 2 devices today..I unlocked my GV and sent the info to total for porting. I just got a text message
"Important message about your number transfer!
We have *stopped* processing your request because some information needs to be updated"

Anyone knows what this is about? I tried chatting but the hold time is an hour or so and I am still on hold/in queue to find out. I provided them them the Google address as suggested in the wiki.

Some of us have gotten the unlock by activating the line and never actually opening the phone, but there's always a bit of an added risk that you might not notice an issue. If you go that route, make sure that the line gets to the point of showing "active" on the Total website with plan days counting down AND that the IMEI of that specific phone shows up as being the active device on that line. But opening it is often the safer way to go, particularly if you're not really familiar with the process. If you do that, you can leave the screen protective cover on while you set up the phone so that it still looks brand new.

Can I use a GV number to get the phone and then wait 2 mnths and then switch phones- to my total wireless number that I've had for 20 years? (Reminder- Current total wireless customer )

In 2 mnths would I be able to use these as unlocked phones with my OG phone numbers that are currently already in Total wireless/verizon systems?
Yes, GV numbers are outside the VZW network so they'll work for the port-in promotion. Once you activate the iPhone and port-in the GV number, you can start the 60day unlock counter. No need to pay for a 2nd month, as the line/phone will just be deactivated the but the unlock counter will still countdown. Keep the SIM card in the phone and do not remove it until you have confirmation of the phone being unlocked. Then you can just swap your SIM card from your OG Verizon phone into this and everything should be A-OK.

Do you have to unlock the GV number before entering it to check eligibility? I've tried all my GV numbers and it keeps telling me that the number is not eligible.

I'm stuck in 'Please wait to get verified' spinning wheel for 15 mins now. Has anyone experienced this?
