For gaming? Yes it's absolutely worth it.
If needing an upgrade on AM4 this is good price, otherwise just go am5
Given the 5800X3D is still around $300, you are definitely not getting an extra 30% in performance over the 5700X3D, which makes getting the 5700X3D a screaming deal at $230.

do you really think the 5700x 3d somehow worth the extra 30% premium?

go with your budget the 5800x is a great chip. the 5700x3d is also a great chip but it's a bit niche. IMO if budget is no issue just upgrade whole things to AM5 with one of those 7700x combo deals. .

At best, you get about 10% better performance in gaming with the 5800X3D compared to the 5700X3D. The fastest component on any platform is going to demand a premium. Much like the Nvidia RTX 4090 vs the RTX 4080 Super GPUs. About 15% better performance with the 4090 at an 80% price premium. That being said, if you're looking to upgrade an existing AM4 system and are on a pretty strict budget, this price on a 5700X3D is a pretty solid deal. If you are building new, I would skip AM4 at this point and buy a 7800X3D. With a high end GPU on most top tier AAA titles, the performance difference is pretty massive.

This cpu is great. It's surprisingly close to the 5800x3d for less money and that's assuming your using the top end RTX 4090, which I doubt most of you are. This would be a better upgrade then the 5900x, if your coming from a ryzen 5 3600 for example. If your focus is gaming.

Amd purposely gimped cache memory in the X line to create a "premium" tasks chip line x3d.. it is pure greed and wasteful of resources to do so.
With that logic, Intel purposefully gimped every CPU in their entire lineup.

Where are you getting 30% increase?

Do you mean in cpu processing power or fps in games? Because there's not even 5% increase in fps between 3d chips and x.
You literally just proved my point. $230 + 30% = $300. Therefore it's not worth paying 30% more to get the 5800X3D because you don't get 30% extra in performance. Making the 5700X3D is a great deal if you in the market for a AM4 cpu.
