my opinion after playing ff9 on the switch, if you can get it on another platform I would recommend it. I just did a playthrough like a month or so ago and it was fun but the load times on the switch are really bad. I got through the game by my sheer love of the game but I can't understate how bad the load times for the battles are. couple links on the bottom and you can see for yourself that on switch it takes 15 seconds for the battle to load.
