Great deal! Many thanks!

The tracfone plan alone is worth $120-180ish if you are a low-data user like I am (2GB/mo is enough for me), making the phone itself almost free.

Phone unlocks in 60 days (Tracfone is Verizon)

SD card capable, so no issues with storing everything you need.

It has a 3.5mm jack! Unheard of!

Plastic, but you put your phone in a plastic case anyway, so who cares.

It's a capable mid-low range phone. You won't game or do heavy processing on it, but fine for maps, social media, photos, video (if nothing is moving too fast), email, calls, etc... It benchmarks at close to twice the speed of my Pixel 5a, which runs Android 14 like a champ. My wife has an a34 (related phone) that performs just fine.

They are advertising 4 Android upgrades and security updates through December 2028, which is spectacular for a phone at this price. However, I have my doubts about how capable it will be when running Android 18.

I'm sure there will be posts saying how slow it is or the features it doesn't have, but at this price, it's pretty good. Yeah, it's not a flagship, or even one step down from flagship, but it's decent.
Apologies for hijacking this thread, but it has to be stated that the above is false.

Verizon only requires activation (first month of payment), and the phone auto-unlocks 60 days after the activation date. No second or third month of service is required to SIM unlock.

QVC isn't like Sam's Club or Cost Company. You don't have to be "member" or you get charged an additional fee -- it's the same price for everyone at QVC. It's a web-front for a TV shopping network.
The coupon is for NEW CUSTOMERS, who said anything about being a member?

I don't see NFC listed, tracfone seems to crimp a lot of their prepaid phones by removing this even though the standard version of the phones may come with it

Does the phone unlock after 2 months if the phone is outside USA at that time ?

Placed my order for this budget Samsung A25 5G phone with QVC. Got $50 off by applying for a QVC credit card. So unlimited talk & text with 24gb of data that cost $199 from TracFone..... I get it for $150, plus the A25 phone! Perfect timing, since my Moto 5g 2022 service expires next month with TF.

The A25 has NFC for wireless payment, but no wireless charging.
Wireless: NFC and IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n wireless interfaces

I received the A25 last week and it is there..... under Connections / NFC and contactless payments. Just move the slide bar to the "on" position.

Your posts got me thinking about how long it's been since I upgraded my phone. I did a little research and learned that Apple won't be supporting my 6S much longer, so it's time to look at something newer. Happened upon an unlocked iPhone SE 3rd gen 5G 64GB like new from VIP Outlet for $157 shipped. It's newer than the 11 by 3 years (2022 vs. 2019), has the smaller size and home button I'm used to, and my Lightning cables will work with it. And it has the A15 processor from the 13 series, so it should be supported for a long time. Kind of the perfect solution at a decent price, so I grabbed the last one they had. VIP Outlet can be hit or miss, so we will see what condition it arrives in.

VIP outlets always sell stolen phones. This means it can never be activated thus can never be unlocked. I've bought several phones from them before, and all of them are stolen phones.

I personally like Samsung better for an overall better user experience. Camera seems to work better, the interaction is smoother, etc...
Moto in my opinion is better in terms of minimal OS. There is no additional layer of software that samsung installs (UI, galaxy store, etc). The interaction with Moto's OS is very straightforward. Moto also has a better range in detecting wifis in my opinion.
At the same time, Moto's camera is cr@p even at 50MP; updates do not seem to improve anything; and there is glitchy interaction; brightness of the screen is never adaptive (it kind of tries to adjust but the algo is pathetic).
All in all, I would pick A25 without much thinking...
That's the thing I don't like about Samsungs. What can I safely disable? Especially hate the nag to update apps. I can't figure out how to clear it from notification screen. I like my A23 but for the UI and overlays.

Some/most coupon codes are for new customers only.

Yeah, that's a big plus for me. Don't know why Samsungs don't have a FM radio.

Does anyone know if these tracfone phones receive updates after they become unlocked?

"Phone unlocks in 60 days (Tracfone is Verizon)" probably is not very true. Having got a13 from last deal and received a text message that indicated unlocked after 60 days. But, inserting the other carrier sim card displays "your phone is not registered on a network, so you can only make emergency calls." Does anyone have this problem from TracFone and how to solve it?

Wouldn't you need to activate the phone with the other carrier's SIM before you can have calls/data?

I had Samsung A23 from the previous year QVC deal with limited data. My daughter used data within the first month. After that she was not able to do mms or able to join any chat groups. She always get messages from her friend with download image but nothing opened. I assumed it's because her cellular data is finished. Can someone confirm that they are able to send mms and able to join chat groups on tracfone ?

What do you mean by that? Once the phone is unlocked, it can be inserted any other carrier's sim card to make a phone call. All unlocked phones work in this way. But, the phone from Tracfone still displays " Your phone's not registered on a network... when I tried using the different carrier's sim card after the phone had been unlocked and 60 days had already passed since activation. The phone can use only the Tracfone sim card to make a call though it has already been unlocked.

I don't have the A23, but myself and 2 sons have tracfone service on Verizon. Whenever we run out of data, we have absolutely no internet. Some providers still provide data at lower speeds when you run out of data, but that doesnt seem to be the case with Tracfone. I suspect that is why your daughter is having the issue. You could try buying/adding the 1gb data plan for $10 to confirm, especially if she has no issues when connected to wifi.

An unlocked phone still needs to be activated with a carrier to make calls and access data. Even if you take the SIM out from a working phone with existing service you'd still need to activate the new phone with the carrier with the IMEI info.
