Great deal! Many thanks!

The tracfone plan alone is worth $120-180ish if you are a low-data user like I am (2GB/mo is enough for me), making the phone itself almost free.

Phone unlocks in 60 days (Tracfone is Verizon)

SD card capable, so no issues with storing everything you need.

It has a 3.5mm jack! Unheard of!

Plastic, but you put your phone in a plastic case anyway, so who cares.

It's a capable mid-low range phone. You won't game or do heavy processing on it, but fine for maps, social media, photos, video (if nothing is moving too fast), email, calls, etc... It benchmarks at close to twice the speed of my Pixel 5a, which runs Android 14 like a champ. My wife has an a34 (related phone) that performs just fine.

They are advertising 4 Android upgrades and security updates through December 2028, which is spectacular for a phone at this price. However, I have my doubts about how capable it will be when running Android 18.

I'm sure there will be posts saying how slow it is or the features it doesn't have, but at this price, it's pretty good. Yeah, it's not a flagship, or even one step down from flagship, but it's decent.
Apologies for hijacking this thread, but it has to be stated that the above is false.

Verizon only requires activation (first month of payment), and the phone auto-unlocks 60 days after the activation date. No second or third month of service is required to SIM unlock.

An unlocked phone still needs to be activated with a carrier to make calls and access data. Even if you take the SIM out from a working phone with existing service you'd still need to activate the new phone with the carrier with the IMEI info.
How, contact the tracfone to manually unlock the phone or what else? Can you detail it? My other unlocked phone has no such problems but can use any carrier's sim card to make a phone call without unlocking the phone again.

You are conflating the phone being locked to a specific carrier and the phone being activated on a specific carrier. You can use an unlocked phone on any carrier, but you still need to pay for service and activate the phone with a carrier to be able to make phone calls.

Even when you take a SIM with active service on phone A, that SIM is activated with phone A and you will need to activate phone B with the carrier to have service on phone B.

Call TF unlocking dept to verify it's been unlocked correctly, if it's still locked they can fix it.

What do you mean by that? Once the phone is unlocked, it can be inserted any other carrier's sim card to make a phone call. All unlocked phones work in this way. But, the phone from Tracfone still displays " Your phone's not registered on a network... when I tried using the different carrier's sim card after the phone had been unlocked and 60 days had already passed since activation. The phone can use only the Tracfone sim card to make a call though it has already been unlocked.
How did you unlock the phone, getting the 2 codes from the portal after 60 days, dialing #tfunlock# and then inputting them or just automatically after 60 days? I've always input the 2 codes, including my A23.

VIP outlets always sell stolen phones. This means it can never be activated thus can never be unlocked. I've bought several phones from them before, and all of them are stolen phones.
I've bought 2 ST/TF from VIP Outlet, both activated & unlocked on TF as expected. They're usually Walmart returns.

We will see when my iPhone SE3 5G arrives; it shipped today and should be here Saturday or Monday. If it has any issues, back it goes for a full refund. I'm halfway expecting it to be new open box, even though it's listed as refurbished.

I think it def has more value.

I have a BLU tracfone. I bought it for one purpose, as a GPS tracker - to hang around my son's neck so I can find him if he gets away from me. Its not good for much else.

Having used the BLU phone, it's complete garbage-slow, bordering on unusable.
Get AirTag. It would be the best

The phone is CDMA. So once it's unlocked, how it is going to work in other GSM carriers ?

Plan is linked to phone IMEI, so no.

The sim card is from carrier A. I inserted in an unlocked phone B. It works. But, inserted into Tracfone A13 (though it has already automatically been unlocked after 60 days) does not work. So, the problem is on the Tracfone but not the sim card.

I received a text message with a link about unlock policy after 60 days. After clicking the link and provided the imei or phone number it displays the phone is unlocked (automatically).

I don't think this is true. I, few times, used my wife very old, unused phone for a short moment and it was fine. Just took out my SIM and pluged it in the old phone.
