I have the Gen 1, and they're just 2 years old AppleCare just ended on them, should've replaced them but never did. They still work well and hold a charge but decided to hold off until they go completely kaput. Seems like the gen 2 are solid improvements but not completely necessary if your current versions are working fine. I do like how they added Apple Watch charging support, kinda neat.
Airpods Pro are so much better than Gen 1 it's not even a conversation unless you are partially deaf
There could be a case to be made to compare Gen 3 to Gen 1 but I have Gen 3 and they blow Gen 1 out of the water.
This deal is dead now but be wary of bad advice - next time the Pros go on sale grab them esp at this price
