Almost popped on this but know well enough to check composition.

It's a compost mix with grass seed. Yikes, why in the world would I pay for filler I can get for free?

These companies just keep trying to repackage 💩 and use clever titles to trick us. Even clever marketing. Never had a problem with free sources of compost or growing uncoated seed. Don't let them market you stuff you don't need.

May be a deal compared to the normal robbery price for this product. But there are far better solutions to grow grass for your $.

Time is also $. This product is convenient. U don't have to spend time get 5 separate things and mixing them up. U decided whats worth your time and $. But this product makes sense for a lot of people.

You mean all the idiots that handed out all that FREE Money in 2020 to people and businesses that did NOT need assistance...thus causing ridiculous spending sprees. Gotcha!
Exactly. I wonder... whose going to be more favorable to big companies 🤔🤔

I was actually browsing this similar deal in the past. The cost of 10 lb scotts sun n shade mix was $26.99 as the Ace and on sale for $20 just about 4 years ago and the one at Lowes was $16 around the same time.

Man inflation is killing everything. This is not just 7% inflation as feds say. This is 40% inflation.
Wrong.

Spot on, and yes, the math 100% checks out. No lessons needed as you are dealing in facts, not opinion.

Where can you get filler shipped to your home for free?

Answer is fescue seed left over from the fall, a cultivator for prepping existing soil and cheap 10-10-10. Using this stuff the seed never properly gets rooted into the grounds top soil layer producing early death.

I've found that it's not very effective if you're trying to do a large area. It's fine for spots but if you're doing anything bigger just get everything individually.
It's intended for spot treatment and works quite well for that.

That said, I would recommend anyone buying this to hold off until the fall for using it. If you try it now, the young grass won't develop deep enough roots to survive the coming summer heat, assuming you live somewhere that gets somewhat hot. Put this down when the heat has subsided and before the frost, and you'll have grass that survives and fills in next year.

I tried several years to use this in Spring and was always frustrated. Might be OK if you're religious about watering, but even when I tried, it seemed like the first blast of heat (and no rain for a few days) killed everything.

Before using this you must prepare the ground correctly. Make sure to dig thatch out of the area first. Get down to dirt.

Doesn't everyone know that you pay mega premium for this stuff?

I'm well aware that this is 4x the priceof grass seed and fertalizer but it literally takes 5 minutes to sprinkle on and it grows every time for me.

Any alternatives?
Compost, from your backyard pile if you have one, from your local community yard waste center, your neighbor.

Facebook marketplace in more rural areas people will offer free manure or compost if you come take some off their hands.

You could also just use what ever tool you have to scarify where you're putting it and mix the seed into the dirt.
