Almost popped on this but know well enough to check composition.

It's a compost mix with grass seed. Yikes, why in the world would I pay for filler I can get for free?

These companies just keep trying to repackage 💩 and use clever titles to trick us. Even clever marketing. Never had a problem with free sources of compost or growing uncoated seed. Don't let them market you stuff you don't need.

May be a deal compared to the normal robbery price for this product. But there are far better solutions to grow grass for your $.
Time is also $. This product is convenient. U don't have to spend time get 5 separate things and mixing them up. U decided whats worth your time and $. But this product makes sense for a lot of people.

Wondering when people will wise up and realize these patch bags are a total ripoff.
Doesn't everyone know that you pay mega premium for this stuff?

I'm well aware that this is 4x the priceof grass seed and fertalizer but it literally takes 5 minutes to sprinkle on and it grows every time for me.

Answer is fescue seed left over from the fall, a cultivator for prepping existing soil and cheap 10-10-10. Using this stuff the seed never properly gets rooted into the grounds top soil layer producing early death.
Thanks a lot.... So to get good grass I definitely need to cultivate and rip everything up and then plant? Cant weed/aerate/oversees existing bad patches? Thanks

Any alternatives?
Compost, from your backyard pile if you have one, from your local community yard waste center, your neighbor.

Facebook marketplace in more rural areas people will offer free manure or compost if you come take some off their hands.

You could also just use what ever tool you have to scarify where you're putting it and mix the seed into the dirt.

Where can you get filler shipped to your home for free?
Lots of places have community yard waste centers. Facebook marketplace and Craigslist people offer it for free if you take it.

You're own back yard if you compost. Your flower bed, push back the top layer of mulch and scrape the soil off just below where previous years mulch has composted. Then push the top layer of mulch back.

Home Depot has bags of manure for $4 and mulch for about $3. Mix the two + $15 of just seed and you'll get a ton more mileage.

Not perfect for all scenarios but I 🤬 hate the way they market this stuff. They fill a bag with mostly filler which is cheaper than seed then call it a premium mix and sell it for more than straight seed.

Time is $$ but you also have to know that we vote with our wallets and voting to pay more for inferior goods is like saying it's ok to fleece you. This bags retail price should be cheaper than seed per pound.
