I am now wondering this myself lol. Anyone used this with a "cheaper" (than cable/fiber hybrid) mobile unlimited plan as a primary and substitute for their internet? Are speeds stable? Any idea of average speeds? Any major drawbacks? At $175 for a refurbished I'm seriously considering calling ATT to see if I can get that tablet plan mentioned above lol
This device is not the solution. TMO and VZW offer unlimited 5G at home service with a legit 5G home modem. TMO regulary has it for $30/month unlimited 5G if you are a current mobile cell customer. I have one for my mom's house with only DSL access. Speeds highly dependent on location of course.

TMO: https://www.t-mobile.com/home-int...meInternet

Also, with TMO, there is not rental fee or required purchase of the 5G house modem, you just have to return it when you decide to end service.

The device is already at the End of Life. No updates from Dish or Netgear. The MR6400 is not compatible with Verizon. It also does not have mmwave capabilities. Keep that in mind if you purchase.

Be aware that the ATT branded version (MR6500) is only SIM unlocked, but the Netgear branded version (MR6550) is band unlocked, in addition to SIM unlocked. The MR6550 is also IMEI repairable and hotspot hidden.

I just bought the refurb of Amazon last week and I couldn't be happier and it cost a fraction of this price.

Try this link. https://www.amazon.com/NETGEAR-Ni...26088&th=1 [amazon.com]

Otherwise search for "NETGEAR Nighthawk M6 Pro" on amazon. Its like $175 and unlock too
That's the 6500, only good on Att 5G.

how does this compare to inseego m2100?
Quite a bit better than even the Inseego M3000/M3100 since both of those have limited bandwidth on 5G bands for some odd reason. Like the M3100 can only connect to 80mhz of Verizon n77 C Band 5G.

It works well on Tmo.

The 6500 is repairable too, you just have to downgrade the firmware or install the 6550's firmware onto it, which is still not locked down.

Yeah, but which ones of those extra 5G bands on the 6550 would you need in the US, besides the mmWave ones?

You probably bought a 6500 which only works on Att's 5G.

Would this unlocked unit work overseas with a local sim card? In other words, let's say I traveled to India and purchased a data sim card in India, would this device work with that sim? Thanks

Other than 5G, how does this compare to the Mudi from GL.iNet?

For all intent and purpose, aren't the MR6100, 6400, 6500, 6550 all the same hardware? It's just locked down differently?

As already mentioned, you can find it refurbished at much lower price on Amazon. One thing to note is that this model is not yet supported by DC Unlocker so if you plan to buy locked or open up some extra bands (which this device does support) you might be out of luck.
