How do folks who have CSR or CSP feel about Chase's travel portal? I find that while I can get a 50% bonus on point redemption, the stuff is usually marked up a bit so that I'm not getting that amazing of a deal in reality. For example, the price might be 10% higher than I could get on Priceline or directly through the airline/rental car company/hotel, so it makes it more like a 35% bonus.

For me, the math on the CSR is becoming hard to justify. The lounge benefit is losing restaurants, the annual fee increased, I don't get a ton of value out of the DoorDash benefit. This is probably my last year, but I might be enticed by another signup bonus like this.
i hardly if ever book directly on the travel portal, not great value because like you said, prices arent the most competitive. i typically use it to transfer points to air france or southwest if i see a good deal with the airlines directly.

I think the best you'll get for redemption is not using chase travel portal. Rather it's transferring points to Hyatt.

So recommended combo is CSP (not CSR) and Hyatt transfer.

Can one be referred from a friend for the reserve and preferred? If so, Can you get a referral and a bank extra 10k on preferred. Ty tu
Doesn't look like it. I grabbed a referral link this am and it only offers 60k to the recipient. I was going to refer my wife which would net me 10k and her 60k but this offer is still better.

I've heard this before and I totally believe the math. The problem is that I rarely stay in hotels. My travel is mostly to visit family and adventure travel (sleeping in a tent).

Even if you don't travel. It's a net profit of $695 cash tax free for the first year.

No transfer bonuses have been available for Hyatt that I'm aware of. Transfer has always been instant for me.

No transfer bonuses but you get 1chase + 1 hyatt pt. And Hyatt pts can be redeemed at like 1.8x dollar value often, sometimes higher.

Transfers are instant.

Darn, doubt this will still be available on Aug 1 when I'm back under 5/24. Any DP's of people getting approved online while not under 5/24? (I've heard, in-branch you can sometimes get approved over 5/24.)

You can check your credit report and that information should be there. but what you need to know is when you last received a bonus. I'm not sure if points activity goes that far back.
