For me, the math on the CSR is becoming hard to justify. The lounge benefit is losing restaurants, the annual fee increased, I don't get a ton of value out of the DoorDash benefit. This is probably my last year, but I might be enticed by another signup bonus like this.

Chase only allows one Sapphire per person, so you either choose the CSP or CSR. In my opinion, if you factor annual fee, the CSR is better. If you take into account the $300 annual travel credit, etc. It will balance the fee out.
So 550 AF - 300 travel credit - 60 door dash. Still 190. Is it worth extra hundred vs preferred? I have lounge access from other cards and similar benefits from amex plat/venture x. Leaning preferred since you can get 10k more in branch sign up.
Sounds like the Preferred would be better for you. I have PP through my Sapphire, but if you get it from another card then it's not a benefit for you. I also use mine for the travel insurance, 3x points on travel, dining & the Global Entry fee.
Also can you sign up for both cards to get both sign ons?
Finally is 75k considered good now? Don't they go up to 100k every now and again?

You can't sign up for both CSR and CSP. You can downgrade within the first year, but you can't upgrade within the first year.
I still have $600+ in points so would have to shift those too I guess.
Edit: The only flight I forsee in the next few weeks is CHS-MSY and Breeze is by far the best airline to use for that. Breeze isn't available on the Chase travel site...
also when buying air tickets yhrough the chase portal do folks pay with points or with cash (ie the cc) and apply points to the line item on the cc statement?

When you book through the portal you have to use the points to get the 1.5x bonus for the CSR (or 1.25x for CSP). If you pay with cash then apply the points you're only going to get 1x for cash back. You can get slightly more with the Pay Yourself Back. RIght now mine is showing 1.25x for wholesale clubs, pet stores, gas stations, and the annual fee and 1.5x for charities. But the best value for CSR is going to either be transfers or using them on the portal.

But yes, its weak sauce compared to what you'd get from having a dedicated airline or hotel card. Really depends on your lifestyle.
