It's cheaper because it's not spring adjustable. That means every time you want to want to adjust the monitor's position vertically, you have to loosen the back screw with a hex wrench, readjust the stand (potentially with two heavy monitors attached to it) and then tighten the screw. Not something you want to do on the regular. If you're sure your workflow never requires vertical adjustments after initial setup, what you posted is fine. But for a little more, I highly recommend anyone buy this stand which gives additional flexibility both now and down the road.
I have had that one for probably 18 or so months. I liked it initially, however the last 6 months it feels like it it's going limp. It wont maintain the tilt at times. It also seems like it is starting to sag laterally.

Most of these things have screws that you're supposed to tighten if they get loose. Have you looked for those? Check the manual.

I have, and it may have helped a tiny bit, and in no time it was back to where it was. I am not saying it's a terrible device, but I am still going to try this unit to see if I like it better.

Bought one a couple of weeks ago. Works great.

I used to have something like this for a tablet but I found that eventually the clamp would loosen and the whole thing would just fall off. This will not do that?

What's the max height I can set this to? Also, anyone know of a good/cheap adapter to convert an older IMAC to vesa?

not good for those with tight-to-wall setups. For one like this, I needed 8 plus inches away from the wall to mount two 27" I went back to two single arms. One inch away from the wall and yes cable management is a PITA I had to buy longer cables to reach the outlets the standard cables reached before. I even moved the battery backups closer. Better price than I paid for the one like this on W00t...

Apple sells(sold) a mount for older iMacs I paid upwards of 75.00 for mine. I have not looked for an option in the past few years...ten years maybe...

It was a rather large hunk of machined aluminum.

Fair enough, I have a very similar monitor stand. I think the brand is Vivo, but it's basically identical. The stand in this deal looks a lot nicer, though.

Holy crap dude I thought the one in op was mine but I have the gas spring version and totally forgot. I was annoyed how high my monitors were so your post literally made me day. Thank you.

Has anyone gone over the 30 inch limit with this? Wonder if I can make this work with my two 34 inch ultra wide monitors.

They won't have enough space to be side by side. Possibly too small even if you put one in a portrait (tall) orientation since the 30" max size spec is based on standard aspect ratio (16:9) screens.

I too found that if you own 2x 32" or larger screens, all the inexpensive mounting hardware out there caps out right below that size.

Based how much space I can get between my 2x27 monitors I'd suspect a modern narrow bezel pair of 32 could fit.

I might actually prefer that also as the arms would be fully out stretched to the back of the monitors rather than at an angle at the middle hinge which inhibits the ability to push my deck close to the wall.

Tighten the allen nut for the spring tension, usually left tightens so look closely for an arrow indicating direction
