This isn't a new offering, but awareness is always a good thing. There are more classes available than are listed in the op - a total of 151. Here's a direct link to all of Harvard's free courses:

https://pll.harvard.edu/catalog/free?page=1

If you've ever heard of auditing a class - that's exactly what this is. You get the knowledge, but you don't take tests or get actual credit. It's like sitting in the classroom as an observer, but the advantage of it being online is that the courses are self-paced. You do have to pay, IF you want a certificate verifying that you took the class.

Many colleges and universities offer similar programs. Googling "free Harvard courses" brought up the link above. Substitute "Harvard" with the name of the school you're interested in to see if they offer a similar program.

Aren't these always free? You have to pay for assessments and certificates, but I think you could always take these.
All politics aside ivy league schools have a lot of money and pay top dollar for good educators and to make sure they provide a good education.

You know what would be awesome? If they made education free all the time? The increased innovation, productivity, and efficiency would make up for the cost easily. Learn if you want or don't, but education should be a right, not a privilege.
You're saying that you want to get a degree to make money but don't want to pay. You have the right to not go to school. If school is free, who will pay for professors...
Do you understand the basic of money?
If you want to make money, you have to invest.

This is generally true in the professional schools (law, medicine, MBA) but not necessarily true in the regular 4 year degree programs. These schools have long prioritized a strong Leftist tilt for their undergraduate educators.

Whether someone is a "Good educator" has very little to do with who gets hired, paid well, promoted, and tenured in academia, ESPECIALLY at elite institutions. Research/grants is #1, then arguably a dozen other things before "teaching" even becomes an evaluation criteria.

Sorry mate, but are you aware that education is close to free in countries such as Scandinavia or DACH. I wasn't aware that those countries are struggling developing countries with poor economies. Also interesting is that quite a high number of successful startups here in the U.S. were founded by immigrants from those countries … that tells you that "free" education is not a failing system … the only problem is that our ivy schools are much better in their marketing so people believe only grads from those schools are the best. I hope you don't drive a Beamer … !

Do you know why education is free in those countries? Because they pay more than 45% tax. Medical is also free. Everything is really expensive in those countries.
You can go to those countries if you like to be taxed to the last dollars.I don't

Nothing is free. Money comes from tax payers to fund free medical, school, food...
Per your comment, why don't we just tax the hell out of the rich and give money to the poor so they don't have to work? Because if we do that, that is called inflation. Because you don't work but you receive free money. The amount of money you receive will be based on your performance.
A normal worker cannot demand the same pay as an engineer.

Lol. If you start adding up all the taxes we pay in the US, it's still a staggering amount. Except, we have relatively Little To Show for it. I'm not arguing with your point, I'm saying we pay too much tax here and we still get to foot The Majority of the bills for things like Healthcare. How's this system any better? They used to try to say it took forever to be able to see a doctor -you know- until it started taking forever to see one here.

All these systems are broken - Including Ours. But at least others aren't ala' cart thievery.

Our system is bad. We have 340 millions people compared to 5 millions people in Norway. It's pretty much impossible to take care of every one.

The only thing we need to know is what is the expense of said services in Norway vs the same services in the US? I haven't looked it up, but I would bet the expense here is 10x higher on some of these things. That's what you get when you have Social Capitalism, fake Socialism with Gov mixing with private enterprise. If a Gov is going to do something, it should just do it all. Or don't get involved in it at all.
