Disagree actually. For those of us without trucks, a track saw would be amazing for breaking down sheet goods at the big box store.

731 woodworks did some pretty comprehensive reviews on track saws - and he reviewed both the wen and the ridgid. Maybe check those videos out?

Been looking for a deal on one of these - and have HD gift cards to spend 🎉Anyone have opinions on this vs Wen for low-key gone diy stuff?

My needs are very modest - basically a few sheet goods a month - so fancy isn't important. I do want something likely to work well when I need to pull it out and use it. Even though the reviews always look terrible for the super cheap Wen, people routinely recommend it here and elsewhere.

Would love recs Smilie

Hmm, seems that HD updated the description to 8 AH battery. So tempting

So does this include a 8ah battery or a 6 ah battery? Because the selection says 6 and the title says 8?

Yeah I think of all the tools a DIYer needs to be cordless, a track saw is not one

If you are already in the Ridgid battery ecosystem, then this is probably a slam dunk. Otherwise you could highly consider other options. For me, this was an easy choice in the prosumer space. Just needed the right price to show up.

Ridgid track saw is only compatible with ridgid tracks. I would step up to the on sale m18 saw and power tech tracks, I have both of those and would buy them again at full price if something happened to my set.

This is why I bought the battery powered WEN.

If you already have a circular saw and don't need the mobility of cordless, you could also check out the universal track by Milescraft that's $99. Even if you bought another corded circular saw for it, you'd still only be in it for about $150

Granted, you wouldn't have the dust collection capability and the side would still be open, but there are places that will 3D print those sorts of parts too.
