I missed out on the Tractor Supply deal. I'm not sure if this is the same grill because I noticed it has 38,000 btu vs 60,000.

I love my Blackstone. That said the quality is crap. In particular the paint job and the rust. Mine is under cover and still the hood etc went to crap. Seems these need to be replaced every few years.

This is the regular price (I bought one 2 or 3 weeks ago at this price). The Tractor Supply [tractorsupply.com] model is the same price, and appears to be 60,000 BTU/hour vs this ones 38,000 BTU/hour. The Walmart model comes with a hard lid, the TS model has no lid. Neither come with a fabric grill cover. So at this price point you have to choose between more heat, or a lid. The lid can be easily upgraded later, they even sell hinged lids that can be put on this, but they are expensive.

For what it's worth the Walmart model gets plenty hot for me to do my cooking on, and I do not burn food on it. Without a hard cover, a fabric grill cover will likely leak at least a little, which will cause your carbon steel cook-top to rust. If I had known at the time that the TS model had significantly more BTU I may have opted for that, but I imagine I would have regretted it the first time I took my cover off and noticed a little bit of water on my grill top instead of on my hard cover.

I bought the 36,000 BTU Blackstone from Walmart last year. Does not sear meat well and loses it's temp pretty quickly once the griddle has food on it. Big disappointment. Buyer beware.

A simple $15 propane regulator swap can improve the btus of the Walmart model past the tractor supply one. I can get it so hot it will melt off seasoning and wrap my flat top surface if I try.

The TS model comes with a hard top cover.

FYI, I chatted with Blackstone about this, and they said the 38K BTUs is the newer model, and it provides the same amount of heat with less energy needed than the older 60K model. So the Walmart version is better, which is good, since the nearest Tractor Supply is an hour away from me!
