It has never been posted here at that price. The lowest for new was $1050 and open boxes are hardly available and very YMMV. He probably just got lucky with one, that's all.

The Legion Slim 5 14.5 OLED deal last week for $850 is honestly a much better deal.

G14 dimensions: 0.64 by 12.2 by 8.7 inches
Legion dimensions: 0.84 by 12.9 by 9.9 inches

G14 weight: 3.3 pounds
Legion weight: 3.85 pounds

The Legion does have a slightly larger screen though which is nice.

G14 has all aluminum build, the Legion has a plastic interior.

G14 has G-Sync while Legion doesn't.

G14 has significantly better speakers.

Is that worth an extra $300? Up to the buyer, just pointing out the differences. I'd say no but it's close.

All that said, a few months ago the Legion was $1050 at BB and Slickdeals had a $150 eBay coupon and to my surprise it worked on the Legion making it $900. At a $450 price difference that makes going with the Legion a LOT easier, but I haven't seen that since. I'm a little mad at myself for not jumping on it.

the slim was definitely the better deal....even new at $1049 the slim was the better deal

although this one has been getting rave reviews and as doc said is the lowest it's been.

think ur not getting the best bang for ur buck overall but best it's been.

What 14 would be best for your buck?

slim when it's on sale or triton. This one may be best due to it's build and asthetics now.

I agree with other commenters. While the sub $900 price for the Legion is hit or miss depending on your location and number of Best Buys in the area, I would still personally pick the Legion at $1050 over the G14. The G14 is a wonderful laptop in its own right, but not worth the extra $300 imo. That being said, if you've been waiting for this to go on sale, it's still a good buy.

Glad to see the 2024 G14s already going on sale. Due to using the same GPUs and almost the same processors, my hope is that the 4070 model will eventually hit $1,000 or $1,100 later this year.

G14 has G-Sync while Legion doesn't. That's pretty important if you're used to it and with the lower framerate scenarios you're inevitably going to get with this resolution and graphics card.

G14 has significantly better speakers.

I don't know of any pros the Legion has over the G14 but the size and weight alone are pretty significant differences. Is that worth an extra $300? Up to the buyer, just pointing out the differences.

All of these points are correct and valid. One thing worth nothing is the Legion screen is bigger, hence the overall size difference you mentioned.

I love the G14, I've had one in the past. Just my personal opinion that the Legion is a better overall value, even considering the points you mentioned.

this is still a great deal though. if you are looking for the absolute best price/performance value, the Lenovo OLED for $1050 is a better deal (open box for $850 is very much a YMMV, I'm guessing a lot of those are display models which i wouldn't want), but that laptop does not have VRR/GSync and that would drive me crazy.

for me, the better processor, better speakers, slimmer profile + lighter weight, and addition of g-sync make the G14 a great pick.

Yeah I edited my post after realizing I left that out. I agree I would go with the Legion for most buyers. For me, I'd go with the G14 at a $300 difference probably but I'm crazy and value speaker quality a lot and Gsync.

Whoever got it for $900 absolutely stole it.
