We got ours a week and a half ago. We just plugged it in and said go. It mapped the entire ground floor of the house and did a good job cleaning.

We have 3 cats, 1 dog, and a 15 year old boy. It does a good job avoiding most obstacles. You do need to be cautious with charging cables and the like that might be on the floor. It'll suck those up and then cry for help on the app saying its stuck.

We haven't used the mop functionality, but i have the vacuum run every day at noon.

We ordered the solution from amazon but haven't had time to put it all together. Im sure it'll do a great job and hopefully i can schedule sweeping everyday and mopping every 2 days.

It would be amazing if you could upload some music to have it play when it starts. We named our Susie Q and I would love to have it play that song as Susie Q does her job. I do always thank if her if im there when she's working.

Based on 2-3 weeks of just using the vacuuming, 10/10 would buy again.

Some Roborock model info:

Q Revo (and QX Revo) is an exception to their naming conventions. It also comes with a significantly different dock and I believe you need to get Q Revo specific auto-dock bags while the other vacuums should be able to share.
Q is their budget line
S is their premium line
Plus/+ is typically the same as the non-plus model (there do seem to be SOME differences but minor like dustbin capacity) but comes with a self emptying dock (they should all be Auto Empty Dock Pure but don't quote me on that) for the dust bin only
Ultra comes with a self emptying dock for dust bin + mop, includes mop features such as drying and auto-wet
MaxV > Max > Pro, MaxV is the same as the Max but comes with color cameras on top of the LIDAR.

More info on this model in particular. QX Revo is the Costco "exclusive" Q Revo. There are no model differences AFAIK between Q Revo and QX Revo but the QX Revo just comes with extra accessories (mop pad and filters).

The Q Revo has an auto empty dock for dustbin and mopping features. I view it as an upgrade to the Q8, downgrade from the S8 Pro Ultra, and a side-grade from the S8+. The S8+ is superior in vacuuming due to its duo roller design and 6000 Pa. The Q Revo is superior in mopping with the auto mopping dock features. It doesn't sound like that much of a game changer but I have not used the mopping with my S8 because it lacks mopping features. The S8 does not have as good mopping coverage in my eyes so I would like it to do another pass (even with me manually pre-wetting the mop pad). The water tank on it is too small and would not be able to do multiple runs on a tank. Manually wetting the entire floor isn't a solution since you can't vacuum if the floor is wet, requiring more runs than necessary and also input from you immediately after a vacuum run.
TL;DR Opinion based: S8+ if you want better vacuuming (especially helpful with pets), Q Revo for better mopping.

Also Roborock is a Chinese company, may be privacy concerns since there's an app that lives on your phone and a device always on your wifi, up to you to decide.

edit: Make sure you know yourself when deciding on the dock that will come with your robot vacuum. I don't believe there is an official way to upgrade your roborock dock. Roborock used to sell the Auto Empty Dock Pure by itself but they got rid of that sometime last year (?). You might be okay with emptying the dustbin (it's really easy on the S8) after every session but the dustbin may not be big enough for the robot vacuum to do a single pass of the area you want it to vacuum.

The S* MaxV Ultra and S8 Max Ultra certainly check a few more boxes, but this is an upper tier unit.

Here is an up to date chart comparing models:

When you clean with vinegar do you leave it in there when the vacuum mops or is there a function to cycle the water for the purpose of de-scaling?
We just put around 1/4 cup in the clean water tank.
We let it mop that week with the vinegar water.

I own one of these things. And yes, I recommend that you stay with the brand that they recommend. I have heard horror stories of people using offbrand stuff and machine clogging. This company is amazing and had nothing but good to say about the vacuum and mop, especially if you own a dog.

You could buy the cleaning solution off of Amazon for 17 bucks a bottle. The bottle should last you a little over a month
Unless you are making it run 24/7 ...HOW can a bottle of the solution only last you "a little over a month"??? You may be using an incorrect amount of cleaning solution per tank load... A bottle should last WAY LONGER!

My Q5 works great, but it falls off the network every 4 weeks or so, which is maddening. None of my other (40+) wifi devices do. It gives no notifications and I have to reset the wifi on the unit and restart the setup process.

I truly dont need a mop...never used it in S5. S5 is working like crap now ( 5 years though hehehe)...what will be the better replacement with good suction , vacuum only.

S8 for 500 at target would think would be a better deal for the general public.
How does the S8 compare to this QX Revo?

I've been using a Shark AV2610WA for over 2 years now. On sale, it's half the price of this and I can say it works beautifully. I'm not sure why people pay this much money for one of these. I'm sure it works great, but there are other brands out there that weekly work just as good for much less money.

Okay, I picked up the reefer robo Rock one for like $400 from Amazon the other day and I got to tell you the se are a disaster compared to the non-self-empting ones that have a large dustbin in them that will hold animal fur. I have the roborock S5 or S7 whatever one that was on the refurb sale for like $250 and I swear to God the refuse been on that is no more than 2 in cubed and that's just like 66% smaller than my eufy 11s That I can get for $99. I mean these things are pretty much useful once that bin gets full. The only cool thing about this is watching it. Go dock up and have that massive amount of suction pull the fur backwards over the roller brush. Great engineering guys. Whoever designed this should be fired for sure. It needs to bin twice the size because what use is lidar and inertial Gap, navigation and HDMI ports if the bin gets clogged within 5 minutes. I have a PC mag top choice 100 dollar Yeedi 650 That's similar to like the ufe 15 c and it also just destroys this robo Rock. To trade functionality for proprietary vacuum bags is also a killer.

Just go back with the $100 b vacs.. I've got a couple of those. And they should never call anything with a piece of foam on it a mop. There's no way I've got all hardwood floors in my house and I tell you these $100 vacuums work far better as far as pet fur and particulate matter. Then these return to home via lidar mapping with a $7 replaceable vacuum bag

Would it be able to detect and avoid cat puke? Not sure how the new lines of robot vacuums handle this kind of obstacle.

You may need to look at the ones with cameras built in for better detection. They usually have MaxV in the model name.

its 1 cap every full tank. At 16.2 ounces it should be enough for 53.33 tanks

Bought it back on 4/16. It's been running like a champ. They do have cleaning solution but it's not pet friendly. I've been cleaning with tap water. I have seen that that it voids the machines warranty if you use something other than Roborocks solution.

You can probably use Home Assistant to set your smart speakers to play the music every time it starts cleaning 😁
