I got 4 last time. I'm still waiting for two incandescent light bulbs to burn out before I put all four in, but the two I did install in the basement have been working great!

Tips:

If a dimmer switch is on the circuit with the Hue lights, the bulbs may buzz or even flicker. Making sure the dimmer is on 100% helps solve these issues; better yet is just having a basic on/off switch.

There's 3 stages to Hue ownership. First, you get the cheapest "soft white only" bulbs to see what they're about and why people say they're better than cheaper options. Second, FOMO strikes again and you find out the hub is TOTALLY worth it over just using Bluetooth, and you buy a bunch of color bulbs so that you can instantly "decorate" for the holidays. Stage 3 (or at least where I'm at now), the novelty of colors has worn off, and the scheduling, independent dimming, and remote control features are the features you use every day (and really the holidays still need more decorations anyway).
As usual, baby's first Hue lights. These have their uses but just know that they don't do any of the "wow" things people generally associate with Hue. These are locked at 2700K. Using the app (or home automation), you can set timers, dim them, and do a minor flicker effect to simulate fire. But these don't change color or temperature.

Also, as usual, Woot has bonkers pricing. 2 lights for $25 or 4 lights for $27. What?
I have 5 can lights on one switch. I can turn on just two over my island on any combination.

I can also dim them. I use Alexa for my commands.

I do have a TP-Link switch at the wall. The hue never loose their settings.

I just ordered hue backlighting for my TV and the required bridge device that's on sale now for $43 at amazon. Will the bridge be compatible or enhance functionality of these bulbs? I have a Google picture frame and Google home speaker devices. will they enable Google assistant voice control of these bulbs? I don't use Amazon Alexa. do these bulbs require Bluetooth or can they work with Wi-Fi instead? Can these be used for automation with eufy HomeBase3 cams?

Can you just replace your existing flood light with this? I just want to replace my current yellowish light to soft white.

get those bridges on ebay for less than half that. people (see also: me) buy kits on sale and flip the bridges. U bet I've sold 30 of them in the last 5 years for $20/ea. That is pretty standard price, think I kept 2 extra in case if a breakdown (I use 2 bridges at a time)

We just installed this. Good luck trying to go back to regular tv. It's the best thing we've bought in a while.
