Reviews are not good.... I am researching now.

It looks like this model fails a LOT. Huge numbers of complaints about blankets failing in 90 days or less. Both Amazon and Walmart reviews all complain about the same thing.

Darn. It looks nice, but the number of bad reviews is higher than usual for a heated blanket. Still, it's cheap.

As Zeo notes, the WiFi is a risk: The app and pad will probably require direct internet access, probably no LAN/direct control. The app will probably collect usage information. There's no telling when Sunbeam will decide to abandon the servers and app, leaving you with a non-WiFi blanket.

Wifi connected, so your blanket will be part of a botnet in no time.

I hope the base circuitry and functionality is robust, because if the wifi stuff causes the whole circuit to crap out someday, you'll wish you had an older technology

Unfortunately dead deal, wanted more of them so I can keep one twin in each vehicle for all the whiners that I keep the suv colder than Mr. Freezes ride... Uses so little power that it runs off the built in power ports!

Isn't twin size still available?

Never mind, one left, it's gone now

Comes with 5 year warranty: https://www.sunbeam.com/on/demand...g-warranty
unless they've changed their policy, you have to pay to ship it back.

between the cost of the packaging, transportation to the post office, and the time without a heated blanket, it's not worth it. (although they will let you pick your replacement color to be something else if you want, which is kind of nice)

because these are the ones locally stocked cheapest, I have a ton of these Sunbeam heated blankets and they always fail within a year - sometimes shorter. they also sell under a couple of other brand names, but it's the exact same blanket and the exact same company. if you do a web search and look at the message board / user videos, you'll see when they're taken apart the connections are extremely flimsy compared to other companies. these people were able to fix them, but I wouldn't trust a heated blanket that had been "fixed" not to catch fire. and it goes without saying you voided your warranty if you do this.

they also run a bit colder than other brands . this I didn't find out until I started poking around for other brands out of desperation. my current favorite brand is GreenOak (sherpa blankets version only, as the other ones are too thin you can feel the wires). that brand runs unusually hot compared to others. (a couple of people posted pictures of skin burns on Amazon ; which hasn't been my problem fortunately, but I also use mine with a sheet between my skin and the blanket)

neither of those two Brands show up on the average review sites best of list, but there are choices are often two to three times the price or more.
