I own the mid-tier model of this hose reel, and it's prob the best out there for the price. The hose length rating is for a normal "thin" garden hose. So if you are using a commercial or thick garden hose, expect to get about 50%-60% of the capacity since they are much thicker. I would caution that if your connect has one of those metal spring spirals or four in thick plastic sleeve to prevent crinkling, that hose will not work. The connector would stick out and not reel in correctly. Watch a YT video on the assembly. It's very sturdy, and worth the money, but it's built for regular garden hoses without various anti-crinkle features. If you do get this, I recommend getting a few sets of quick releases... you put that on the water facets, hose connector to the faucet, it makes life a lot easier if you want to move to different locations. Same if you have different sprayer heads or connect to a pressure washer.

Just bought the 200' version a couple weeks ago for $10 more. The build quality of these is amazing

I got the 150 ft when it was on sale for not much less than this just before Christmas. I won't ever have a hose 200 ft or longer, but it would be nice to have the feeder this one has on the front.

The only thing I don't like about it is the piece you screw onto your spigot is hard, at last for me, to get a good grasp on, those I can't get it tight enough to not leak. They really need to redesign that.
My 225 model has wings on the spigot attachment end.

I was looking at a hose reel at Sam's Club (https://www.samsclub.com/p/member.../P03013019). I like the price of the Sam's Club one better but the Gorilla one looks nicer and after reading some of the reviews on the Sam's Club one it seems like it might rust.

Anyone have the Sam's Club one and can comment on the rust factor?
I bought this one from Sams last year, rusted awfully, and when you reel the hose back in the connector hose unscrews itself.....terrible design.

Why do you need so many? That's just Ludacris.

Also have flexzilla hoses, but bought the 225' anyway. Will see if it fits through the guide and if not I'll return
It will fit. This 225 is bigger in every way. It won't tip over easily as well. I consolidated my hoses and just use this as a cart. If I'm going to use the pressure washer I just take the reel with all my hoses to the spigot. Unwind my first length of hose and connect it directly to the spigot.

some people don't even read the description and leave a comment:

You can go on Amazon and search for "Garden Hose Quick Connector, Solid Brass Quick Connector and Disconnector 3/4 Inch Male and Female Water Hose Fittings". There are a bunch of different options from various vendors. If you want to have a tighter seal with the faucet, I also recommend getting ones with silicone gasket if they offer it ("Garden Hose Washer Gaskets Made from Soft Silicone", or just buy a pack of silicone gaskets when you order the quick connects. Silicone should last longer than rubber gasket. Silicone is softer which should provide a better seal, and shouldn't dry out (and eventually crack causing a drip, or at least it'll least longer).
Cool. Thanks a lot!

Mine does too, but it doesn't help. It sometimes think it makes it even worse.

I bought the larger 225 foot hose reel. I got the Gorilla 7 cubic foot dump cart last year... is my best yard tool purchase so no hesitation buying this larger hose reel at a discount. Thanks for the post, OP.

I have the 150' model and these are built sturdy. I jhave had about a year and zero issues. it is made with solid aluminum so it is heavy but not too heavy to lift and move around as needed.

The wheels are sturdy and the handle is robust for turning the hose.

It comes with a heavy rubber lead hose about 6' long and the connections are what I think are brass or some type of heavy gold metal (Brass?) fittings.

Do not worry they did not skimp on anything....it is deserving of the GORILLA name and blow any of those plastic hose reels out of the water. Sure it doesn't self retract but this is meant to last and easily move large amounts of hose as needed.

With 200 feet of hose on it's pretty heavy. The handle is also super short so you have to bend over to move it around. It's not like amazing quality or anything, but not garbage either. Also 200 feet of girthy hose has trouble fitting all the way in. Would not buy again.

Looks like with the Walmart variants, only the 225' has the tray and guide.

There are two models of the 200' that Gorilla makes. One has the guide and tray (GRM-200G), the other doesn't (GRS-200H).
Makes the HD price match deal even sweeter. Thanks!

funny that they advertise it being "aluminum" however the aluminum appears to be held together with PLASTIC! In fact, I see a lot of plastic parts on this. Maybe the plastic used is heavier and can withstand some abuse and harsh winters?
There's a reason this Gorilla brand is growing and rapidly expanding beyond tape: they only make sturdy and functional products. I've got a ladder, two benches, tons of tape, super glue, a 600-lb rated wagon (wheelbarrow replacement), and probably some other stuff.

There aren't many brand names that actually mean something these days. To me, their name alone is worth the purchase because it means that it's not some junk that I'll need to replace in 1 to 12 months.

Short answer: I'm betting it's heavy-duty plastic like the kinds they use on the rides in Disneyland--good for 100,000+ use cycles and heavy constant use.

So I'm looking at this, can someone explain why there are wheels on the cart if you don't wheel it to where you're going. It stays right next to the spigot and connects with the short hose. I thought it was going to work like the way a reel/outlet extension cord is, you just unwind and connect.
I guess if you want to move it from the front yard to back yard?
