I also tried Browning several years back and it sucked. My instinct now is to stick with a company that was making cameras or gadgets first and then made trail cams. Versus getting a trail cam from an outdoor/firearms company that decided to slap their brand on the cheapest foreign crap they could get their hands on.

Good deal! Just got mine today and set it up with a Verizon nano SIM card. Everything is working as described. Verizon charges $20 for 15GB per month. I'll need to wait and see how much data it goes through.

I have $10/mo unlimited data tablet plans with T-Mobile. Will the sim card work in these cameras?

Not sure if this will work but here's a clip from one of the cams.

How responsive is this camera as far as trigger times, and does it give you audio? I usually get $50 or so replacement trail cameras when mine crap out so I don't spend too much on the 7 that I have around our property - that way when they die (and they all do in 2 or 3 seaons) I'm not out much. The Garde Pro cameras [amazon.com] usually work best for me in the lower than $60 range, and when I tried a $100+ Browning camera, it was the worst one of the bunch, so I stay with the Garde Pro pretty much.
It has pretty fast response times. I've got it temporarily set up at my house using the Verizon SIM and I get motion alerts right as they happen. Audio is clear and it has an alarm siren feature to scare someone away.

i need verizon, whats my best option? adding to my cell plan at $20/mo seems expensive
The $20 for 15GB was the cheapest option Verizon had. I found $10 for 5GB with T-Mobile but they didn't have the coverage I needed. There's also some prepaid SIM card options.

EIOT Club has a prepaid sim with T-Mobile/AT&T at $15 for 2GB. Where did you find the $10 for 5GB plan for T-Mobile?

I just need to turn on the camera once per quarter out of the year, so I'm trying to find the cheapest option to do that.

I saw it on a Reolink forum post. Not sure if it was accurate. They said to be careful with T-mobile because they won't refund if the card doesn't work for your area.

"Compatible SIM card carriers: EIOT Club, T-Mobile (prepaid data card only), Freedompop, AT&T, Verizon. Note: Before using Verizon, please activate the SIM Card with your phone's IMEI. "

How long do the 8 x AA batteries last in your GardePro cams? Do you get notifications sent to your phone when it sense motion or do you have to scroll the entire SD card for any action captured?

FYI, at least on the 4G 4K PT non-camo (white) version of this, I put my Tmo biz tab sim in it for a few days. Tmo's system doesn't know what the IMEI is for, thus is unlikely to shut you down. I suspect the same is true for other carriers. Looking up the IMEI on a checker, it's described as a Quectel generic phone, and Tmo site shows Quectel NULL.

US Mobile's shareable data plans is another good option, since you can pay by the $2/GB and the sims are allowed in any device.

I've got a ReoLink Go PT (2k) 4G in North Idaho that has been going strong for two years (two winters). Mine is mounted about 15' up, so the PIR motion detection isn't as good as it could be closer to ground level, but I still get plenty of notifications as animals pass by. It is primarily in place to keep an eye on a building site, but the animals don't seem to mind dropping by. I did build a little housing to help protect this camera from the elements.

I've also got a ReoLink Duo 4G watching the driveway into the property, and the vehicle, person, and "other" motion detection is very good. It is nice to get a phone alert and know if I should check the video immediately (vehicle/person) or if I can review the photo/video later (elk/moose). The Duo gives me about 170 degrees of view, but the two cameras are fixed (no panning like the Go PT models). It has been in place for 1.5 years, through two North Idaho winters and it is installed as-is to a tree along the driveway, no additional protection.

I have my Go PT on a T-Mo $10 2GB 5G/4G "unlimited" prepaid plan, so after the first 2GB of data, it drops to 3G speeds. 3G is good enough for the camera to email out still photos when motion is detected, but not enough to watch the video stream. I've only exhausted my 2G of data once, when I created a timelapse video and then downloaded the high-res version of it one month (around 800MB).

The Duo I have (so far) on a postpaid T-Mo 30GB hotspot plan (see deal discussion here). Same data transfer speed, same price per month, but 15x the data. I wasn't sure if that would work, so only tried it on one device, but 3 months later, it is still working. I activated that hotspot plan SIM on a real T-Mo hotspot device, then moved it into the camera, so YMMV on that option.

Pretty happy with both devices overall. Google will let you email from the camera through your gmail account to send email notifications, but you will need to generate app passcodes in your account to use as the password when setting this up in the cameras.

The 8 AA batteries usually last 2 to 3 months mainly because we have deer, racoons, possums, skunks, armadillos and coyotes roaming through there day and night. Thankfully we don't have a lot of unnecessary triggered videos with nothing in them, but when the squirrels get active they run them down a good bit.

No phone notices at all because they aren't set up for any kind of mobile phone signal. You have to go check the SD card. No problem for me because I like roaming through and walking the mile property and then back to get the exercise, but it's not good if I want to know what's there at the exact moment.

Is there any else like this in the $100 range? This is out of my budget.
