That's a lot of money for a non upgradeable, non gaming capable, limited system, that's only about the same speed as a 5600g desktop which can be often bought for 1/2 or less the price and which would be gaming capable given a half decent video card.
Even for just an office pc it's a huge premium for the small size, we've seen many 5600g refurb desktops for 1/3 the price that already come with ram and ssd.
It's actually a pretty capable mini gaming box. I threw SteamOS on mine and am having a blast.
I'm not against this device, but you can find the newer 8845HS units for as low as $387.80 US on AliExpress. It's a pain because of the delays on shipping from China (same with Minisforum directly) and I know people would prefer it if it was on Amazon, but still, it's slickdeals for a reason.
But not a bad price for what you're getting. Max TDP of 65W. Not bad.

I see topton cyberpunk on there but the minisforum are over $600
I bought it a week ago directly from GMKtec's website on AliExpress for $375.55, when there were some great $50 coupons. But that deal is not there now.

It did not come with any windows product key when I bought it 6 month ago.
I'm not going to comment on the price. But about performance it's beyond my expectation.
The most demanding use case for me is llama 3 and it's incredibly fast - 64GB ram with 16 allocated to video.
Apparently it can easily be pushed to 85w and 3Ghz but I haven't tried it.
I occasionally play Black Mesa in 4K and it's great (60hz). CS 2 in HD without any issue as well.
Manjaro distro works perfectly out of the box.
I also have a 5600g and it's night and day...
That site gives the 5600g +3% effective speed over this 7940hs.
That's not to say the 5600g is faster in all respects, it's obviously not, but the gpu in this will seriously limit what it's capable of.
When looking it up I also sought to compare the GPU effective speed and found this:
"AMD's Radeon 780M integrated graphics get close to GTX 1650"
So basically not that much above the integrated graphics in the 5600g, but with a 5600g desktop you're not limited to the built in GPU.
I have two hp desktops with 5600g and 5700g, and rx5500 and 6600xt video, both are better gaming systems and the cheaper one was only $200 as a refurb and it came with ram and ssd and windows license, that's not a barebones price. Even the cheap one came with a 400w power supply, so it's not limited to the slow video card it came with either.
I'm sure some people will have special use cases where video speed plays no role, but that's probably not most people.

7940HS 30565
5600g 19851
guess mixed with 5800HS which is slightly faster than 5600g
