You need the whole 6 month for cricket or they won't unlock it. IIRC, they won't let you downgrade your plan easily either.
It's only good for people using Cricket, but for everyone else, avoid.

But yes, you must buy that plan for the first month. You can switch plans after that.
You should switch to the $30 a month afterwards, but for one month you get to binge-watch HBO and a $200 discount on a phone.
Wait what, I bought my iPhone 12 b back when it was 6 months, will it still unlock, or will it take an extra 6 months now

Sounds like their policy is already helping prevent scammers. The entire point of a unlock policy is customers are required to stay with the company that initially subsidized the cost of the device.
Far too many people take advantage of Metro lenient unlock policy and cheap new customer phone deals. I've done it, but never with the intention to resell for profit. Just upgrade every 2.5-3 years for cheap.

I think reselling is kinda morally wrong . I only ever got the metro deal once, and I might actually have service with them for a month or two extra while I wait for the unlock
Looks like a cool phone but the snap Gen 1 is a heater
Yikes. When did that change. I recall when the Pixel 6a was 50 bucks you only needed 6 month. Unreal. So if I really want to capitalize on any of these deals I'd have to use it as a Wi-Fi only device for 11 months or switch to MetroPCS permanently. Nope .. that point I would rather just buy a used cheap phone.
Indeed. I wish they would have at least gone with the plus version of the 8th gen 1. TSMC made that one and it was a huge boost in battery and efficiency. And in the past the FE series got the latest chip so it was pretty disappointing
