Not a good idea since a dash cam has specific features/functionality. Buy a proper dash cam such as from Thinkware as it would be much more practical.

Depends on what you're doing with the Pocket. If it's just for casual home use you might be able to get away with just the Pocket 2. If you're creating actual content, recording yourself speaking, etc. then the combo is a great deal.
